Hated It
Revisado: 01-31-14
Would you try another book from Robyn Carr and/or Christina Traister?
Absolutely. I love Robyn's normal romance books but I disliked this book. And yes I knew this was a different genre.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I am listening to Kristin Higgins
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Christina Traister?
I don't know but this narrator had a depressing voice
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Mind Tryst?
I don't know, I didn't get further than 71 minutes into the book
Any additional comments?
I found this book to be absolutely depressing. I listened to 71 minutes, the first two chapters and it was all about this woman's depression with dealing with the loss of her son in a car accident and short marriage. It was just very difficult to listen too, not because of the loss but 71 minutes of the loss with more to come I am sure then to find out the male character was coping with the loss of his wife and child who had been murdered, WTH, now I have to listen to two people go on and on and on about it? This is a story, fiction, and it should not have taken over the whole story, this was just not entertaining. I got to a point where I was dreading listening to the next fifteen minutes as I was just expecting more and more of the same bleak, disheartening reading.

Historia
Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows - to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before. A killer who is just like him. Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 01-25-14
Would you listen to Dead Eye again? Why?
maybe
What other book might you compare Dead Eye to and why?
One of Mark Greaney's earlier ones
What about Jay Snyder’s performance did you like?
Very good at different characters
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Disappointment. I did not like that once again Court does not find out why he is being hunted. And once again, he seems to not be able to see a couple of steps ahead. And once again he is running.
Any additional comments?
I have decided I wont be reading another of these books as I don't want to read another book that has the same type of storyline that I have already read 4 of. I feel it will just be another book that just keeps the same story going from earlier.

Historia
Loreen Murphy hadn't meant to hire a male prostitute in Las Vegas. It was all just a big, stupid, expensive misunderstanding. Abbey Walsh never intended anyone to find out about the fact that she's being blackmailed. As a minister's wife, her sordid past was supposed to be a secret. Tiffany Vanderslice Dreyer never dreamed that she'd find herself up to her eyeballs in credit card debt from one mad moment of a shopping spree. She's an upstanding wife and mother with the perfect marriage...right?

The story slowed and just lost its momentum.
Would you ever listen to anything by Beth Harbison again?
Yes, she was a good narrator.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Secrets of a Shoe Addict?
I didn't read the whole thing so I cant comment. I just lost interest in listening to this about half way through.

With The Look of Love, best-selling author Bella Andre introduces you to a fun and emotional contemporary romance series about the Sullivan family. Because when a Sullivan bad boy falls... he falls hard. And it's forever. Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. Terrible
Revisado: 10-09-13
What disappointed you about The Look of Love?
this book was written in my opinion without real thought to battered women or sensitive men. I listened to two chapters which was about 45 minutes to find I just couldn't put myself thought it anymore.
What was most disappointing about Bella Andre’s story?
Her characters changed within half an hour of meeting each other. They were just horny without any substance. She started the book with the female character being beaten and jumpy and skittish to within half an hour of meeting the male character of satisfying herself in his hot tub with him watching!! And he started off as a sensitive man noticing her bruises and decides he has to take it slowly and get her trust to within half an hour of bursting in on her and invading her privacy. This would not happen in the real world and is just ridiculous.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Eva Kaminsky?
Yes, she read the book well.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
nope,
Any additional comments?
I would never listen or read to another of this authors. Its a real let down.

Historia
Known by the name of the psychological experiment that fostered his emotionless brutality, Skinner founded his career in "asset protection" on fear. To touch anyone under Skinner's protection was to invite destruction. A savagely effective methodology, until Skinner's CIA handlers began to fear him as much as his enemies did and banished him to the hinterlands of the intelligence community.

No for Charlie, yes for Jay

I did not enjoy this book. I found it hard to work out the story and I found it quite disjointed. Due to this I did not get past the half way through chapter 5. I would not read another of this authors as it was too disjointed for me.

One of her Worst
Revisado: 05-07-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I am not sure who would enjoy this, i think this is poorly written
Has Whiskey Beach turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
What didn’t you like about Peter Berkrot’s performance?
He was shocking. His reading was simpering and in the stronger parts that should have been read with some strength and force in his voice, this was lacking. I do not want to hear another book narrated by him.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Whiskey Beach?
I would cut about 4 hrs of this. There was alot of repitition and wimply simpering rubbish. It was like a mills and boon book and not a quality Nora Roberts book. It was not necessary to the story and as these things had already been mentioned in the book a number of times, i do not see the point in repeating them even if they were worded differently. They ended up being the same and i didnt want to hear it again. The problem was i would have also skipped chapters if necessary in a book and just skimmed the areas necessary.
Any additional comments?
I ended up starting the second part of the audio book and then skipping to the last 2 chapters as i just couldnt stand to listen to another 4-5 hours of unnecessary waffle. I am very disappointed in this book and would be hesitant about purchasing another of her stand alone books and that says something as i have read every book she has written since about 1995. I would read her trilogys anytime but her stand alone ones have lost their touch.
