Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

The interaction between Tova and Marcellus
Revisado: 05-06-24
What a wonderful story. The writer would tell part of an incident and leave you wondering. Then go to another story but always would come back to the previous incident. Sometimes the two stories came together as one. I love this type of story telling as it really keeps me interested in the book.

How something terrible that happens can eventually bring reconciliation
Revisado: 11-21-23
There wasn't anything I didn't like, the author never lets you down either story. Yes, there was a tragic incident (as usual) but I loved how in the end this brought everyone back together. Just a very good listen.

Another Great Read by Picoult
Revisado: 06-16-23
She does it again- a great read. I love Picoult's style of writing. She slowly develops a story but they usually have a dilemma involved that makes you think about the outcome whether it is right or wrong; what if this had happened; why.
This one doesn't disappoint.

I Loved the Story
Revisado: 05-31-23
Very well written story and narration. I learned so much about Indian culture which is woven throughout the story as it unfolded. So glad my daughter recommended this book and the next one after this. You will not be disappointed if you decide to read this book.

Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Historia
The Van Ripper women have been the talk of Tarrytown, New York, for centuries. Some say they're angels; some say they're crooks. In their tumbledown "Stitchery", not far from the stomping grounds of the legendary Headless Horseman, the Van Ripper sisters - Aubrey, Bitty, and Meggie - are said to knit people's most ardent wishes into beautiful scarves and mittens, granting them health, success, or even a blossoming romance. But for the magic to work, sacrifices must be made - and no one knows that better than the Van Rippers.

Mary Brave Bird grew up fatherless in a one-room cabin, without running water or electricity, on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Sad Day on the Reservation
Revisado: 11-02-16
What made the experience of listening to Lakota Woman the most enjoyable?
I wasn't aware of all of the strife that went/goes on at a reservation and this certainly opened my eyes to the problems. It is very sad commentary on what has been done to the Native Americans.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Well, of course the main character--the Lakota Woman.
Have you listened to any of Emily Durante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No not that I remember but her performance was very good.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I don't know.
