Historia
Celebrated music maven Erin Riley looked like she had it all: a 1960s Mad Men-style upbringing on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, then an escape to “find herself” in glamorous 1970s Hollywood, where she landed some of the most influential positions of the 1980s music industry. She hung out with rock stars like Keith Richards, Steven Tyler, James Taylor, and Jon Bon Jovi and chose the hit records for America’s #1 rock & roll radio station, WMMR-FM. But her colorful, raucous, rock & roll life hid dark secrets.

Fantastic educational book!!
Revisado: 11-17-23
I have already listened to Erin’s book twice and am going back for a third time to take notes. The similarities between my 20+ year marriage (and two before that) are eerily similar. If only we had access to this information sooner. I’ve read well over a hundred books on this topic. This one is excellent. I’ve already recommended it to my other friends going through this hell ride with covert abusers

Historia
The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

We all need to know this information. Therapists are harming many clients by not understanding this profoundly damaging character who creates trauma after trauma in insidious ways. We want to know about this if you’re dating, getting married or partnered, not sure if things are ok or not
I wish I’d had this information twenty years ago

Worth the Fight calls for a love revolution that is fueled by forgiveness, compassion, kindness and selfless service to others: May we love more fiercely ourselves, our neighbors and the natural world! A peaceful movement that starts with the listener, a slow march to restore what has been withheld to our times that are defined by fear, discord, and conflict. A bold book of potentially viable, progressive solutions open-sourced and gifted to a world starved of love.

Historia
Most of us have instinctive evidence the world is ending - balmy December days, face-to-face conversation replaced with heads-to-screens zomboidism, a world at constant war, a political system in disarray. We hear some myths and lies so frequently that they feel like truths: Civilization is humankind’s greatest accomplishment. Progress is undeniable. Count your blessings. You’re lucky to be alive here and now. Civilized to Death counters the idea that progress is inherently good, arguing that the "progress" defining our age is analogous to an advancing disease.

Historia
From the author of The Gift of an Ordinary Day comes an intimate memoir of loss, self-discovery, and growth that will resonate deeply with any woman who has ever mourned the passage of time, questioned her own purpose, or wondered, "Do I have what it takes to create something new in my life"? "No longer indispensable, no longer assured of our old carefully crafted identities, no longer beautiful in the way we were at 20 or 30 or 40, we are hungry and searching nonetheless".

Listen to this!!!!
Revisado: 02-27-13
If you could sum up Magical Journey in three words, what would they be?
Inspiring, honest, lovely
What did you like best about this story?
I loved Katrina's reading of her story and the depth in which she plumbs the hard parts of being a woman, aging gracefully and soaring through this wild, wonderful journey of life.
Have you listened to any of Katrina Kenison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to her work, but have read everything else and watched the video of her reading from "Gift of an Ordinary Day"
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had lots of tears with this book, tears of joy, tears of remembering, tears of empathy, tears of sorrow, tears of sharing.
Any additional comments?
I LOVED this book. I enjoyed the reading by Katrina, I savored every minute I listened and I have been telling all my friends about it, imploring them to get either the book or the audio version. It is one I will listen to again and again. By the end of the book I felt like she and I could be friends. I especially loved the parts where she talks about Northampton, MA...the town which has been my home for most of the past thirty years.Don't miss this wonderful book. I especially think it would be great for women in their forties and fifties and their partners.

Historia
Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?
