Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Slow to start but gets much better
Revisado: 06-23-23
Took me about one-third of the book to get interested but when I did I found I had to keep listening - I guess that’s the equivalent of not being able to put the book down. The narration was superb - Ray Porter did a fantastic job. I would recommend this book to anyone with the warning that it might be slow going but gets much better.

So she and some friends stage a desperate escape into the surrounding wastelands. And it is here that Auris’ journey of discovery begins, for she is rescued by a handsome yet alien stranger.

Not up to standard
Revisado: 11-23-21
This book was a slight disappointment for me. it's not up to Terry Brooks standard. The storyline is good but the story is too wordy in places - it repeats the same information over and over again. There are several places in the story that should have been caught by the editors because things don't jive - for example there are places during fight scenes that the staff is lost knocked out of the hand but in the next paragraph she uses the staff to create magic. When did she find and retrieve the staff? I love Terry Brooks but I think this book was a rush job and should have been edited better. I truly look forward to seeing Terry Brooks write more books and I did enjoy the basis of the story but please do some better editing.

great series
Revisado: 11-21-21
I really enjoyed this series of books. The storyline was good - full of magic, of action, of love, of dragons - everything a fantasy should have to make it complete. The narrator was really great - I don't know where she is from but she carried the Scottish brogue as if it were totally natural for her. This made the story more real to me but at times hard to understand - I had to listen closely to catch the meaning of some words. I would definitely recommend this series to others.

Read this book to the end!
Revisado: 05-12-21
I was about to give up on this book but decided to stick it out for a bit more - I finished the book! I felt empathy for the couple telling the story but couldn't seem to see their reasoning for blaming the couple living downstairs. That is until Jamie got the letter .... whoops almost gave it away. This book draws you in and even with only listening to it every now and then you will still feel that drawn in feeling return as soon as the book starts playing. I recommend reading this book to the end.

Historia
Michael and Megan Fitzgerald are siblings who share a terrifying past. Both adopted, and now grown — Michael is a long-haul truck driver, Megan a college student majoring in psychology — they trust each other before anyone else. They've had to. Their parents are public intellectuals, an Ivy League clinical psychologist and a renowned psychiatrist, and they brought up their adopted children in a rarefied, experimental environment. It sheltered them from the world's harsh realities, but it also forced secrets upon them, secrets they keep at all costs.

Who did it?
Revisado: 10-26-20
The storyline was mesmerizing - kept me on my toes so to speak. I thought I knew the answer to who was the bad guy but the ending of the book blew my mind. The narrator (s) did an excellent job with the voices and helped the story flow. I will definitely recommend this book to others.

easy to listen to
Revisado: 09-17-20
This book took me a while to get into the story but then I began to enjoy it. Once I got to know the characters it got better. The narrator was mediocre at first but then it was like he began to feel the story and his modulation got better. I could feel that change and started to feel it also. I will recommend it to others and will continue with the series.

Great "read"
Revisado: 05-23-20
This book is the final in the trilogy. It is just as exciting a story as the first two. The battles are full of action and are clearly defined in words. Each character is fully fleshed out and you can picture each. The storyline is captivating and easily puts you into the story. The narrator is wonderful!! She has a different voice and accent for each speaker. She keeps you enthralled in the story with her narration. I would definitely recommend this trilogy to anyone who enjoys fantasy and action.

great action and narration
Revisado: 05-18-20
I truly enjoyed this book! The action is scattered throughout the book - a great storyline! The characters are fleshed out so well that you can envision them and make them alive. The wonderful narrator has a lot to do with that. She is what makes you feel as if you were there in person. She has voices for everyone so you can see who's speaking. I would strongly recommend this book as well as the book one the Spymaster.
