This book helps us connect from each end.
Revisado: 08-07-22
This writing presents practical methods to successfully interact during emotionally charged situations. The wisdom rings true and seems obvious once understood. It seems the next challenge is returning to these ideas after losing focus, like in meditation. The performance was good: four out of five stars indicates the potential for wondrous improvement. The content was so good I'm left with only gratitude, giving all five stars as thanks in place of critique.

Historia
Of all the things humans rely on plants for - sustenance, beauty, medicine, fragrance, flavor, fiber - surely the most curious is our use of them to change consciousness: to stimulate or calm, fiddle with or completely alter, the qualities of our mental experience. Take coffee and tea: People around the world rely on caffeine to sharpen their minds. But we do not usually think of caffeine as a drug, or our daily use as an addiction, because it is legal and socially acceptable.

I did not feel the excitement for fermentation
Revisado: 08-04-19
I love the knowledge about beer descending from fermenting bread. Beer's creation is nicely densely summarized at the beginning, which eases review. I would rather a more chummy presentation. This is a beautiful subject covered as a somewhat plain thing. Professor Bamforth provides a lovely level of detail on the creation-process' variations.

Historia
Fossil fuels and livestock grazing are often targeted as major culprits behind climate change and desertification. But Allan Savory, cofounder of the Savory Institute, begs to differ. The bigger problem, he warns, is our mismanagement of resources. Livestock grazing is not the problem; it's how we graze livestock. If we don't change the way we approach land management, irreparable harm from climate change could continue long after we replace fossil fuels.

Everything is easily tested. It is difficult to believe the answer to health management has been so plain forever. This answer is sensible when empirically lived. I want a version of this audiobook that is told in an intentionally beautiful fashion.

Historia
Joe Mandel is a perfectly ordinary guy from a perfectly ordinary town - a college student and community volunteer who dreams of one day publishing a novel. When a series of strange intuitions leads him to a crime in progress, Joe jumps headlong into danger without hesitation. In the aftermath, he wonders about the uncanny impulse that suddenly swept over him. Until new friend Portia Montclair, the strangely wise daughter of the local police chief, explains to him what sent him ricocheting around town like a crazy pinball.

fantasy replaces clever evolution of a plot
Revisado: 05-30-18
I have loved Dean Koontz for his characters, poetic verse, and thought-provoking-plot-evolving. This book feels less evocative than many of his works. I hope Dean Koontz will pioneer a labeling system to distinguish art by the amount of value the author places in it.
Narration needs to be fluidly dynamic and evocative so that telling a story does not detract from the tale. Here is one mean joke meant as an encouraging jab of constructive criticism: the intonation and excitement of delivery were unfortunately flat. Was the joke flat enough to exemplify my issue with the narration while describing much of the issue?

Why do we consume 35 percent more food when eating with one other person, and 75 percent more when dining with three? How do we explain the fact that people who like strong coffee drink more of it under bright lighting? And why does green ketchup just not work? The answer is gastrophysics, the new area of sensory science pioneered by Oxford professor Charles Spence.
