Great performance - Engaging Story
Revisado: 05-05-16
I've always wanted to read this classic. Listening to it performed by Claire Danes was engaging and enjoyable. I love Atwood's attention to detail and historical references in the crafting of this dystopian tale. Disturbing, shocking, suspenseful, insightful, touching, and almost believable are all words to describe.

Overall a helpful springboard
Revisado: 03-05-16
I was inspired by this book and have put some of the suggestions in place. It helped me understand myself and others who also procrastinate.
The narrating is not the best but can be forgiven since it's the author himself. I increased the speed of listening which helped.

The New York Times best-selling novel from Garth Stein - a heart-wrenching but deeply funny and ultimately uplifting story of family, love, loyalty, and hope - a captivating look at the wonders and absurdities of human life...as only a dog could tell it.

Six hours I'll never get back.....

Any additional comments?
Got this book based on the great reviews and thought it would be good family listening for a road trip. The story is okay but it is so dragged out and nothing interesting happens for the longest time. The character development is pretty flat. We ended up skipping forward to the second half of the book just to find out what happens. The last half of the book at least kept our attention. If it wasn't the only thing we had to listen to we would have ditched it.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Inspiring and easy listening but not much how to
Revisado: 07-16-15
I loved the soothing voice of this narrator and enjoyed listening as it kept my attention.
The book itself is inspiring and motivating in the way watching an episode of hoarders inspires one to just get rid of things. Beyond that the author did not give much practical advice nor did she give much consideration to the problem of other family members in trying to keep a home tidy other than the idea that once other people see the house in order they will follow along. The target audience seems to be single women in their 30s who need to get their clothes and personal space organized. It's hard to see how this works for a family without more direction
I did however enjoy the book and the authors passion for tidying up and keeping care of belongings after ruthlessly purging. This book is more about changing your mindset and giving you an approach which does go a long way. I will even try employ this method. I'm sure there must some you tube videos to help
