Historia
Jack Reacher hits the pavement and sticks out his thumb. He plans to follow the sun on an epic trip across America, from Maine to California. He doesn’t get far. On a country road deep in the New England woods, he sees a sign to a place he has never been: the town where his father was born. He thinks, What’s one extra day? He takes the detour.

Mediocre story and the wrong narrator
Revisado: 10-06-19
In my opinion probably the weakest of all Reacher stories but the biggest problem is the narrator. I was never a fan of Scott Brick in the first place but he is simply the wrong man for the job. Jack Reacher is a very balanced person who never looses control over his feelings or actions. Scott Brick sounds like Reacher is on the brink of a mental breakdown. He reads all books like this and for example ruined the Jason Bourne stories for me.
Please have someone else reading the books. I know a lot of people did not like Jonathan McClane but I liked him. In any case he would be better than Scott.
As for the story of this particular book. It was very strange and some way boring. The idea of having Reacher researching his fathers past is not bad but somehow this story failed to get into something exciting.

Essentially they are practicing a couple of situations you could run into as foreigner (e.g. Expat) in China.
They repeat often enough so that eventually words and phrases start to stick in your brain.
If there is anything to criticize: you more often practice the male in a conversation, less frequently the role of the female.

Historia
Jack Reacher reunites with the survivors of his old Army investigative team, scrambling to raise the living, bury the dead, and connect the dots in a mystery that is growing darker by the day. In a world of bad luck and trouble, when someone targets Jack Reacher and his team, they'd better be ready for what comes right back at them.

Too much fighting and Torturing
Revisado: 05-03-14
Would you try another book from Lee Child and/or Dick Hill?
I already listened to several Lee Child stories and am going to try some more. Dick Hill reads nicely and fitting to Jack Reacher's character.
Was Bad Luck and Trouble worth the listening time?
It was light entertainment but I had to fast forward over the scenes describing torturing.
Any additional comments?
The story is ok'ish but a bit too simple and in many ways unrealistic. For example why did Reacher not find time to reload the gun before going downstairs to meet the two ladies?
And I really don't like torturing scenes. Why does every author of a thriller story nowadays feel the need to describe horrible torturing scenes? I'm not a surgeon and do not enjoy detailed descriptions of how it looks when a human being is being cut open.
