Historia
Having survived their journey into the Dark Heart, Arthur and his dragon, Brixaby, have a new goal: complete their Legendary card sets. Unfortunately, the next Legendary card is locked away in Blood Moon, a hive with a reputation for chaos, lawlessness, scourgling eruptions, and—rumor has it—dedicated dragon hunters. Still, Arthur and his retinue feel they have little to fear. Then again, they also don't have much knowledge of what actually lies ahead.

I really enjoyed this latest book in what is becoming one of my favorite series. Luke Daniels knocks it out of the park on the narration as always.

Historia
In June 1846, General Stephen Watts Kearny rode out of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, with two thousand soldiers, bound for California. At the time, the nation was hell-bent on expansion: James K. Polk had lately won the presidency by threatening England over the borders in Oregon, while Congress had just voted to annex Texas. After Mexico declared war on the United States, Kearny’s Army of the West was sent out, carrying orders to occupy Mexican territory. Winston Groom recounts the amazing adventure and danger that Kearny and his troops encountered on the trail.

A fascinating history of the most important events that gave us the American West. What makes the book stand out are the little stories that are woven into the overall history. Highly recommended to anyone.

Feeling unwanted and still reeling from his encounter in the Garden of Clarity, Trent Embra leaves the city to find out what else the world has to offer. Making his own decisions for the first time, an adrift Trent latches onto the quest in his status telling him to survive alone on the wilds for two weeks. With only the doctrine of Sergeant Cullen to guide him, and a sword to depend on, Trent puts his back to Al’drossford and heads south to find out how different life as an adventurer is compared to the one he has been leading.

This series just keeps getting better. I’m totally loving it. The story molds itself around Trent and not the side characters, which is perfect.

Historia
Monsters and beasts roamed the earth and were slain by soldiers and adventurers who were, in turn, killed by stronger threats. Heroes and villains created new epics and were forgotten when their successors appeared. This was the way of the Infinite World. Summoned into this chaotic place, a young boy with no name and no past must learn to survive. Bound to a master who doesn't care whether he lives or dies, he must become stronger. The question is: how?

Outstanding start to a series
Revisado: 02-27-24
I think I might have found my new favorite series. Wow. This book is incredible. I can’t wait to continue the story in the next book. I hadn’t ever heard of the narrator before (I own >600 audiobooks), but he is clearly top tier. He brings good humor with the narration. Stop reading reviews and spend your credit already.

This rekindled relationship sets off a chain of events thrusting him right into the chaos of the parahuman world.

I had listened to Super Powereds from Drew Hays and Dragonwatch narrated by Kirby Heyborne, so when I saw this combination, I had to try it. It was outstanding. It’s a fresh take on vampires that I would recommend to anyone.

Due to unusual circumstances, Randidly starts in an isolated dungeon far beyond his level, forced to rely on the mysterious Traveler Shal in order to learn and survive with the dangerous new status quo for his world. But survive he does, only to leave the dungeon and discover that while he experienced several hellish months in the dungeon, only half a day passed on Earth. Randidly's capabilities are now more than enough to help build a small enclave of survivors, but that doesn't mean balancing his sense of responsibility against the plots of an unfriendly town will be easy.

A fantastic book similar to Defiance of the Fall or The Primal Hunter. It’s an exciting and fast-moving book and highly recommended. Note that it is heavy on stats, similar to The Land (though much better than that series). If stats aren’t your thing, the Audible app has a handy 30-second skip.

An easy 5 stars for this outstanding series
Revisado: 12-01-23
Book 3 continues the adventures of John and Co. with a serious threat to deal with. I am recommending this series to everyone. The characters are interesting and story moves at a good pace. Michael Kramer is a top 5 narrator. If you like this series, you’ll probably also like Divine Apostasy by AF Kay and Cradle by Will Wight.

Historia
Land-ho! Clyde and co. have finally—finally—made it to the City of Darkness. Which turns out to actually exist! One small problem though. Anyone and anything that sets foot on the island immediately disappears. Ceases to exist. Poof. To complete the quest, Clyde needs to figure out how to actually enter the city and steal the crown jewels . . . without getting stuck in the town forever. It's a foreboding, dark place (obviously), where corruption is rampant. And maybe worse: the game rules Clyde's gotten so good at bending to his will? They don't seem to apply.

Tough start but still good
Revisado: 10-31-23
Although I’m still going to give this book a 5-star review, I need to point out that the first 2 hours of the book are very slow. Basically nothing happens and it’s really frustrating for something like this in such a short book. The book does eventually pick up and get really good.

Historia
A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Retired from a decade of brutal war, he wants nothing more than a quiet pastoral life while he does his best to stem the steady increase of his Doom Points before they hit 100, signaling the start of the end. He’s been given a small farm on the outskirts of the empire as thanks for his service, but no matter how far he travels, it's impossible to escape the war's devastating effects on the world.
