Historia
A young woman has agreed with her faithless husband: It's time for them to separate. For the moment it's a private matter, a secret between the two of them. As she begins her new life, she gets word that Christopher has gone missing in a remote region in the rugged south of Greece; she reluctantly agrees to go look for him, still keeping their split to herself. In her heart she's not even sure if she wants to find him.

A bit too brooding
Revisado: 05-28-22
While the author explores the ambiguities of complex relationships, of love in the face of betrayal, it’s brooding exploration felt willfully stuck… unwilling to be resolved.

Historia
The timely, never-before-told story of five brilliant, passionate women who, in the early 1960s, converged at the newly founded Radcliffe Institute for Independent Study and became friends as well as artistic collaborators, and who went on to shape the course of feminism in ways that are still felt today.

A great read
Revisado: 05-03-22
This book is a wonderfully told history of early events in the fight for women’s rightful place in society through the lens of an institute, art, friendship, and, inevitably, of class. Beautifully read.

Historia
St. Marks Place in New York City has spawned countless artistic and political movements. Here Frank O'Hara caroused, Emma Goldman plotted, and the Velvet Underground wailed. But every generation of miscreant denizens believes that their era, and no other, marked the street's apex.

Interesting history of a storied place.
Revisado: 03-23-17
Told by someone who grew up in the neighborhood, it tracks a place's role in our cultural history and raised the question "what's next?"

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Too long
Revisado: 05-05-15
I stuck it out but wonder whether it was worth it. The characters are one-dimensional with only glimmers of redeeming qualities. The answer to the mystery was clear to me fairly early in the book and it took way too long to get there. I'll revisit my practice of finishing books in the future.
