Historia
Let’s face it: we all want a seat at the cool table, a great job, and loads of money. But most of us won’t be able to achieve this widely accepted, black-or-white, definition of winning, which makes us feel like failures, that we’re destined to a life of loserdom. That’s the conventional wisdom. It’s also crap, according to comedian and cult hero Chris Gethard, who knows a thing of two about losing. Failing is an art form, he argues; in fact, it’s the only the way we’re ever going to discover who we are, what we really want, and how to live the kind of life we only dreamed about.

Chris Gethard is relatable
Revisado: 05-27-24
I discovered Chris Gehtard when he had his cable show on Fusion and then TruTV. I discovered his public access show on YouTube during the pandemic. There was a feeling of loneliness that so many of us dealt with when quarantining in place and isolating ourselves from friends and family during the COVID-19 years. Watching the makeshift TV show wrought with technical difficulties showed me that success looks like different things to everyone. I saw a bohemian bootstraped production that billed itself as the "most bizarre and often saddest talk show in New York City." The things that were considered sad were things that were the most real. They were things that made the viewer feel that they weren't alone; the things being discussed were relatable. You felt a connection to Chris and the rest of the cast, along with a feeling of connection with this club of like-minded individuals.
I picked up "Lose Well" because I have admired Chris for his drive and dedication. The audiobook, read by him, told fun and interesting stories from his life, where he learned not to shy away from trying new things, accepting the outcome, good or bad, and finding the best in it.
I recommend "Lose Well" feeling like a loser and trying to find that they are not alone and capable of more. If you are a fan of TCGS, then you'll love the stories from the MNN days of the public access show that are included.

The best drive drive home EVER!
Revisado: 06-11-15
Would you listen to Size Definitely Matters! again? Why?
Yes, I would definitely listen again. This book get you in the mood in so many ways! Driving home from work, listening to this story by Thrust, I couldn't wait to get home and see my wife. The story is so well delivered, you feel as you are there listening, watching. It's pulls you in and makes you wait with anticipation for every syllable. Alexandria Blackstone's narration was perfect, she managed to capture the very essence of the character and portray the emotions with such open sincerity. Fantastic story that I look forward to hearing again very soon.
Who was your favorite character and why?
With only two main characters in the story, it is hard to take sides. As a man, I wanted to be the older man, I wanted to be doing what he was doing and receiving what he was receiving. I don't want to give too much away!
Which scene was your favorite?
As it was a short story, the bulk of the heat takes place in the bedroom and everything that happened in there got my blood flowing.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The straight and candid talk, the natural language that made the story feel realistic. No over the top adjectives, just plain and simple to the point eroticism. I don't want to be crude, but in all honesty, the writing was so intense that I had to loosen my belt on the drive home as the story was having a reaction on me.
Any additional comments?
I look forward to hearing another story by Thrust and narrated by Alexandria Blackstone It was the perfect pairing!
