Historia
Svenja’s beautiful, aloof grandmother Inge never spoke about the past. All her family knew was that she had grown up in a city that no longer exists on any map: Königsberg in East Prussia, a footnote in history, a place that almost no one has heard of today. But when Svenja impulsively visits this windswept Baltic city, something unlocks in Inge and finally, she begins to tell her story. It begins in the secret jazz bars of Hitler’s Berlin. It is a story of passionate first love, betrayal, terror, flight, starvation and violence.

A bit hard to listen to “Russians” through the whole book. Soviet Union was not only Russians. Ukrainians, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus, Armenia etc. fought as well to end up the regime the whole Europe bowed to and mostly silently excepted.
But the book is great indeed. Thank you. 🙏

She’s an associate specialist at Sotheby’s now, but her boss has hinted at a promotion if she can close a deal with a high-profile client. She’s not engaged just yet, but she knows her boyfriend, Finn, a surgical resident, is about to propose on their romantic getaway to the Galápagos - days before her thirtieth birthday. Right on time.

The narrator is amazing. And the book is so intriguing I couldn’t stop hoping she was in Galapagos till the very end. It was worth the time. Thanks

Historia
A woman invites a famous artist to use her guesthouse in the remote coastal landscape where she lives with her family. Powerfully drawn to his paintings, she believes his vision might penetrate the mystery at the center of her life. But as a long, dry summer sets in, his provocative presence itself becomes an enigma - and disrupts the calm of her secluded household. Second Place, Rachel Cusk’s electrifying new novel, is a study of female fate and male privilege, the geometries of human relationships, and the moral questions that animate our lives.

Historia
Charles Arrowby has determined to spend the rest of his days in hermit-like contemplation. He buys a mysteriously damp house on the coast, far from the heady world of the theatre where he made his name, and there he swims in the sea, eats revolting meals and writes his memoirs. But then he meets his childhood sweetheart Hartley, and memories of her lovely, younger self crowd in - along with more recent lovers and friends - to disrupt his self-imposed exile. So instead of 'learning to be good', Charles proceeds to demonstrate how very bad he can be.

One small idea for the whole book. Nothing interesting.
Revisado: 11-23-20
The idea is that you have to work hard for 12 month to earn a million and then you can relax 🤦♀️I bought it just because of Russell’s review, but it wasn’t worth my time.
Maybe for complete newcomers it’d be ok.

He calls this work soulcraft. There's a great longing in all people to uncover the secrets and mysteries of our individual lives, to find the unique gift we were born to bring to our communities, and to experience our full membership in the more-than-human world.

The whole book in short is “write every day, no matter what, don’t judge yourself and be persistent”
You don’t need to buy it if you’ve read my comment. )
Though if you need some mentor to insure you you should write... this book is a good option.
