Historia
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 24 others before taking their own lives. For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. How could her child, the promising young man she had loved and raised, be responsible for such horror? And how, as his mother, had she not known something was wrong?

Fascinating read
Revisado: 04-19-24
Whether you’re interested in true crime or mental health, this book is a fascinating read from a very unique perspective. We don’t often hear from families or people who loved the perpetrator, and I truly believe there was no way Sue could have foreseen what was to happen. I think it took incredible bravery to put herself out there, and I am appreciative of it. For anyone interested in reading, trigger warning, there is obviously a lot of mention of homicide and suicide, so I wouldn’t recommend reading/listening if you’re not in the right headspace.

Historia
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

Historia
On the morning of August 23, 1973, a man wearing a wig, makeup, and a pair of sunglasses walked into the main branch of Sveriges Kreditbank, a prominent bank in central Stockholm. He ripped out a submachine gun, fired it into the ceiling, and shouted, "The party starts!" This was the beginning of a six-day hostage crisis - and media circus - that would mesmerize the world, drawing into its grip everyone from Sweden's most notorious outlaw to the prime minister himself.

Historia
Dame Sue Black is an internationally renowned forensic anthropologist and human anatomist. She has lived her life eye to eye with the Grim Reaper, and she writes vividly about it in this book, which is part primer on the basics of identifying human remains, part frank memoir of a woman whose first paying job as a schoolgirl was to apprentice in a butcher shop, and part no-nonsense but deeply humane introduction to the reality of death in our lives. It is a treat for CSI junkies, murder mystery and thriller fans, and anyone seeking a clear-eyed guide to a subject that touches us all.

Good, but not was what I was expecting
Revisado: 07-02-23
This book is well written, and the doctor is clearly very knowledgeable in her field with many years of experience. While there are a lot of elements of forensic anthropology covered, I chose this book as a top rated one, and was hoping for more science and facts. There are a lot of personal experience stories, and political viewpoints repeated. While I agree, with almost all of the political and medical stances, I assume most people picking up a book on forensic anthropology doesn’t need to be convinced to be on her side. I listened to the whole book as it was still interesting, but I just think I will pick up another book by this author.

Historia
Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank’s remarkable diary has since become a world classic - a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit. In 1942, with Nazis occupying Holland, a 13-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, they and another family lived cloistered in the “Secret Annex” of an old office building.
