I recommend this book for those like me: just purchased a telescope and wanted to know more about what I was looking at. This series of lectures is well paced and each segment unlocks an awe inspiring tale of the what’s above as well as within ourselves.

Saturated with delightful facts and dry humor

At Home is packed with amazing facts dealing with the many comforts of the developed world and their creation. The prose is so easily digestible and memorable that the average listener will have no problem taking away something of value. I am considering keeping hard copies of his books on my shelf to use as reference. If you want to know the story behind most of the items in your life, leaving no juicy detail out, this is the audiobook for you.

Information about our species like never before

The book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind is brimming with information regarding our storied pre-history. Although at some points, it feels as though the author is loosely basing the assumptions made in reality, the overall story is brimming with more information than any other source that I've read. Prepare to view your species differently.

What did you love best about The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson?

I loved the fact that the Author/Narrator dove straight into the seemingly interconnected web of very relevant trends and let the story write itself. I love that he was as often as surprised as the listener when the subjects of his interviews gave him anecdotal evidence.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character would be Fabian, the subject of the series. In a new world of technology, he created a way of thinking that profited him immensely, while cutting into the profits of others.

What does Jon Ronson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The Narrator, Jon Ronson, conveys excitement that you wouldn't experience if you just read the book. The sometimes hastily recorded conversations really make you feel like your part of the action, while giving it a "Crime-Drama" feel.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. The short episodes made me keep wanting to listen. I couldn't help but to think about how the butterfly effect seems to exist with this topic.

Any additional comments?

Mostly anecdotal evidence is used to loosely form the "butterfly effect". However, just because it's anecdotal, does not mean that there are not some true connections that allowed this one man to affect so many.

The author droned on about the reason to hate this religion. Offering evidence from the Koran itself, I think a critical account like this can be said of most religious books.

She'll Make You Laugh!

What did you love best about Bossypants?

Tina's narration was perfect. Her ability to understand the plight of the audio-listener and turn it into a running joke was the icing on the cake.

What did you like best about this story?

Her progress from small-time to big-ticket involved a lot of hard work and hard laughs.

Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Her work on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, especially 30 Rock, set up the story for Bossypants.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"It's hard work being funny"

Being from Pennsylvania, around Thanksgiving, I hope to see Tina Fey and her family driving, as is their tradition.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dictator's Handbook to be better than the print version?

N/A as I've only had experience with the Audio Version. The accompanying PDF materials are not very helpful to the story and impossible if you listen to this in the car.

What other book might you compare The Dictator's Handbook to and why?

Freakanomics - Freakanomics really dove into the data and reshaped my sense of economics and unintended consequences of policy. The Dictator's Handbook took it many steps forward and boils down all governments ever to a basic principal that I won't mention here.

What does Johnny Heller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His dry tone makes me feel like a washed up Dictator is narrating his own story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How quickly things can go from planned Utopia to gun fights.
