Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Lackluster at Best
Revisado: 10-19-24
This story suffers from an obvious plot, poor dialogue and a lack of imagination. It honestly feels like the author took all the worst troupes from the myriad of dungeon core stories and decided he needed them in this book. The wisp(fairy) is annoying, the dungeons manner of speech make him sound imbecilic and don't get me started on the rest of the cardboard cutout NPC's.
I'm not sure if the narrator is good or bad as he had to try to make up for the poor writing.
Overall not worth either money or a credit.

Iron Fisted Romance
Revisado: 07-20-24
I was hoping that this story wouldn't devolve into a teen drama, but it did. The romance in this story starts okay, but is quickly railroaded into a ridiculous love triangle. Some of the characters are well developed and others may as well be cardboard cutouts. The main character is one of those cutouts and falls into the realm of a teenage girl that doesn't know what she wants. Mind you she's in her mid to late twenties and somehow has enough experience to be 2nd in command of a space mission; yet not enough life experience to understand relationships. Honestly the best thing I found about this series was the world building. The author does seem to put in a good amount of effort, in that regard. Unfortunately that alone can't make up for the otherwise juvenile writing.

Historia
Benny White had been having a rough couple of years, and the approaching apocalypse wasn’t exactly helping. Pulled from the point of death and thrust into a horde-mode-style survival game, Benny’s odds weren’t looking too great. To make matters worse, an eldritch god… entity… thing named ‘Dave’ tasked him with destroying the very System that now controls his fate. But hey, it's not all bad news. Benny’s experience as a lab tech grants him a rare Splicer Class that lets him repurpose the genetic material of slain enemies into augments for himself.

A Bad Rendition of Dungeon Crawler Carl
Revisado: 03-12-24
As the title says, this story is a poor take on Dungeon Crawler Carl. It becomes apparent very early that the MC has plot armor so thick as to make the story moot. The concept for genes and the splicer class is interesting, but that's it. The Narrator does a good job with various character voices making a shallow world feel more alive.
The biggest issue with the story is the MC; he's the definition of an idiot savant. Not able to make a decision, and yet becoming the "strongest" via literal divine intervention. Honestly his personality is just cringe.
As such, I can't in good conscience recommend this title.

Lackluster
Revisado: 03-02-24
I liked the previous books, but this one was a struggle to get through. The author focuses on one part of a chapter and tends to gloss over any details that don't directly involve it. So many scenes that could've been great only to be as the title says, lackluster.

What a Disappointment
Revisado: 01-22-23
This is easily the worst book in the series. Many of the characters have diminished by the end of the book. Kal wasn't bad and Dalinar didn't get to appear much, but it gets really bad with almost everyone else. Shallan is becoming a mary-sue and Navani gets rewarded for making a huge mistake and literally can't fail at anything she creates. Otherwise most of the "story" is really just an info dump. I don't know if the story can recover from the dumpster fire that is this book.

Good Book, Bad Title
Revisado: 10-30-22
The story is interesting and yet I can't get over the misleading title. Overall the book sets up what will be the protectors war, but has no actual war in it. Ultimately this book is filler for setting up the war; fun to read and good characters but filler none the less.
