Overall I enjoyed it. The book did a great job of covering a lot of historically relevant topics and did a little forecasting too, which was refreshing.

Truly one of the best all around books on intelligence I’ve read. Clapper has had an extensive career to say the least and we are all better for him sharing it with us.

Must Read for Anyone New to IT or Cybersecurity
Revisado: 02-16-22
As someone who is new to the field of cybersecurity and relatively inexperienced in all things IT and business, I found this book to be very insightful. Additionally, it’s a novel and following the story is rather enjoyable.

Historia
In this irreverent and illuminating audiobook, acclaimed writer and scientist Leonard Mlodinow shows us how randomness, chance, and probability reveal a tremendous amount about our daily lives, and how we misunderstand the significance of everything from a casual conversation to a major financial setback. As a result, successes and failures in life are often attributed to clear and obvious causes, when in actuality they are more profoundly influenced by chance.

Very Enjoyable, although at times hard to follow
Revisado: 01-05-22
Overall I really enjoyed this book. However, due to the nature of the topic and level of mathematical curiosity that is likely to be developed by the reader, it can at times be hard to listen to in a typical audiobook style. That’s assuming you’re one who listens while driving or doing other repetitive tasks. With all that said, take the Chance to enjoy the book and Persist through any obstacles, surely then you will be rewarded.

Historia
In late 2010, thousands of hacktivists joined a mass digital assault by Anonymous on the websites of VISA, MasterCard, and PayPal to protest their treatment of WikiLeaks. Splinter groups then infiltrated the networks of totalitarian governments in Libya and Tunisia, and an elite team of six people calling themselves LulzSec attacked the FBI, CIA, and Sony. They were flippant and taunting, grabbed headlines, and amassed more than a quarter of a million Twitter followers.

Historia
When we think about the future of war, the military and Washington and most everyone gets it backwards. We think in terms of buying single military systems, such as fighter jets or aircraft carriers. And when we think about modernizing those systems, we think about buying better versions of the same things. But what really matters is not the single system but "the battle network"—the collection of sensors and shooters that enables a military to find an enemy system, target it, and attack it.

Yes it’s repetitive, but...
Revisado: 05-26-21
It’s obviously repetitive that’s for sure, but the author is passing on an important and relevant idea. There are big take always like the importance of buying desired outcomes versus the endless chase for new systems and platforms. Additionally, the need to buy more expendable small systems, which allows for the correct assumption that a near peer or peer threat will be able to destroy many of our most capable systems and platforms. Overall, may not be worth it for the average reader, but a curious DoD junkie may just enjoy it.
