Historia
Sally has recently left an unfulfilling job to volunteer at a living history museum, where she is assigned to the Death House. Every day, she dons Victorian mourning garb and describes traditional funeral services to tourists. It sounds depressing as hell, but for Sally, it’s less depressing than her tepid marriage to her childhood sweetheart. This becomes all too clear when she accidentally travels through time and space to a liminal world where the ghosts of the living history museum haunt its grounds. There, she meets and falls hard for Victorian-era pretty boy Nathaniel.

Disappointing
Revisado: 11-14-23
This had the potential to be really good. The idea was good. I think the fact that this was a short story did the story itself a disservice. It was rushed and cheesy at times. The narrator was great, though.

This is without a doubt one of the best audio books I have ever listened to. I had read half of the book a few months ago, but I couldn't find time to finish it, so I decided to go with the audible version. Great story and a wonderful narrator.

I Finally Made It Through...
Revisado: 06-29-18
...and I'm glad I did.
I loved How to Hang a Witch. I was SO excited to be able to listen to Haunting the Deep, but I was thoroughly disappointed with the change of the narrator. When I listened to HtHaW and HtD back to back, I didn't like it. I had to listen to HtD a few months after HtHaW so the narration was seemingly new to me. Listening to it that way, as if it were its own story and not a continuation made it so much better.
As for the story of HtD, I didn't like it as much as I liked HtHaW, but it wasn't bad. It's not a book that I will listen to over and over- maybe just every once in a while. I hope there will be a third installment though.

Historia
There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Disappointing
Revisado: 06-24-18
The movie should never be better than the book.
I saw this on Netflix (well Netflix DVD) and I loved it! I loved the mystery of the fallen angels. I didn't like how the movie ended without any real explanation as to what was going on aside from an endless cycle of love, loss, and reincarnation. So, I got the book, hoping it would have more information and be more interesting as books usually are.
Chapter after chapter, I found myself bored...waiting for the story to become interesting. I was waiting for the characters to become likable and relatable. That never seemed to happen. I had high hopes for this book but was left highly disappointed.

Finally!!!!
Revisado: 06-21-18
Faerie Tale has been my favorite book since the first time I read it over a decade ago. I kept tweeting Raymond Feist, begging him to make this an Audible book and it has FINALLY happened! I actually renewed my Audible subscription just so I could get this book....now on to my review of the Audible book.
The story is great. I love how this dark fantasy really encapsulates the dark side of faeries. Even the supposed "good" faeries have a darker side which I think is closer to how faeries actually are or were... I felt so close and connected to all of the characters. I think they all worked really well together. It is a story I can read and listen to over and over again.
Now, as far as the narration goes, I'm usually not a fan and am unable to listen to male narrators. Though I feel Tim Flavin wasn't able to perform the female voices as well as I would have liked (he sounded like a guy normally sounds when he is mocking or mimicking a girl's voice) it wasn't so bad that I felt the need to not listen at all. All in all, I think he did a really great job for being a male narrator.
Overall, I give this book a thumbs up!

Very Good

I'm so excited to have found a new series to enjoy. My only complaint was that the narrator sounded a bit too childish and often times whiny, though she was able to portray the four year old quite well. I'm looking forward to the second book.

Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.
