I’m in awe of the skills described in the story hunting, hide tanning, trap lines, and intuitive nature and respect with which they were done.

Historia
In her debut memoir Never Alone: A Solo Arctic Survival Journey, Woniya shares how months of starving by herself in the Arctic wilderness brought more healing than suffering, and led to a deep sense of belonging and peace. Her story affirms the incredible strength of the human spirit and shows us that strength comes in many surprising forms. Never Alone's message is one of inspiration and learning to trust in ourselves and the land around us; embracing the wild and being wholly and beautifully human, flaws and all.

Profound and impactful. Woniya has a gift for writing her truth with ease and beauty. She is an amazing human with an extraordinary and unconventional life story. The world is lucky to have a window into her gentle, feminine experience and wisdom. For it is powerful.
Very Impowering.

Aspiring Afrofuturist enjoyed the book
Revisado: 03-22-21
I enjoyed the reading. I often questioned if the emotional and detail-oriented insights were based on anything other than what the author thought might have likely occurred in the situations. When I was able to suspend my disbelief in those moments it helped me enjoy the book more.
I was really hoping the attached PDF contained maps, artwork and the mentioned photograph, but alas they did not. Again, maps would have been very helpful. Also maps.

Historia
"Believing that something is wrong with us is a deep and tenacious suffering," says Tara Brach at the start of this illuminating book. This suffering emerges in crippling self-judgments and conflicts in our relationships, in addictions and perfectionism, in loneliness and overwork - all the forces that keep our lives constricted and unfulfilled. Radical Acceptance offers a path to freedom, including the day-to-day practical guidance developed over Dr. Brach's 20 years of work with therapy clients and Buddhist students.

Life Changer
Revisado: 03-06-20
This book changed my life. I listened to it straight through on a 15 hour drive. It was the most therapeutic drive of my life. At times I found myself crying as truths about myself surfaced and I began to forgive myself and see from a new perspective. Tara Brach creates mental pathways that lead to truly embracing yourself, leaving shame behind. Thank you Tara.
