Historia
For Alex McKenna, high school is just a distraction from the love of his life Margaret, with whom he can't wait to spend more time once they get to college. In many respects, Alex is just an average 17-year-old boy...except for the fact he's a transgender medium born from a long line of Strega witches, possessing the ability to communicate with ghosts. With the help of Margaret and his talented Strega great-grandmother, Alex will learn how to strengthen his abilities.

Physically reading this book is the way to go
Revisado: 07-20-20
I personally love books, shows, etc., about people who can see, talk to, and help the dead. I couldn't wait to read this book. While I really connected with our MC, Alex, and was super intrigued by the plot and subplots of this book I could only identify one giant flaw. The audio narrator. I know if I would have physically read this book I would have loved it a lot more. While I enjoyed his tone of voice, I felt like he didn't emote the other characters well. I didn't like his voice for the females, little brother, or elderly people in the book. I also felt like he read the book to me instead of performed the book for me. Lack-luster is the best way I can describe it. If you're going to read this book, do yourself a favor and read it physically.

Historia
I haven't touched another person in three years. That seems like it would be a difficult task, but it's not. Not anymore, thanks to the internet. My anonymous clients spend thousands of dollars to watch me take my clothes off for the camera. What they want, I give. Their secrets, I keep. Everything I tell them is a lie. Open the door to this year's most shocking thriller.

Would you listen to The Girl in 6E again? Why?
I would definitely listen to The Girl in 6E again, because it's a suspense novel and I feel like I would be able to pick up on more clues and understand the story even more a second time around. I'm sure there are all kinds of details that I miss out on, because the story was moving so quickly.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was definitely Jessica. I wanted to know everything about her and to understand her obsession. She was just so interesting and kept me reading to find out more about her. My second favorite character would definitely have to be the UPS guy, and then third would be her client who was the hacker. I feel like there is more to his story and I hope we find out what it is in book 2.
Which character – as performed by Jorjeana Marie – was your favorite?
Although she changed her voice a few times for this character, which bugged me to no end, my favorite character she read for was Jessica. I feel like either Jorjeana couldn't hammer down what voice to use for her in the beginning, or she just couldn't pick it up right away between taking breaks from her character, but she changed her voice a few times. One voice would be seductive, the next would sound murderous, and the next sounded like the narrators regular voice. It was just hard to keep up that all these voices were for the same character, but eventually either Jorjeana settled on one voice or I just got used to them all.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I definitely did have some extreme reactions to the book. I definitely laughed out loud in some parts, got super scared in others, anxious, grossed out, uncomfortable, intrigued, and cheesily happy. This was an all around good story that had me feeling a lot of emotions.

What did you love best about We Were Liars?
What I loved best was the over the top, exaggerated details our main character used. It was such a beautifully tragic novel and I am so happy I finally gave it a shot.
What other book might you compare We Were Liars to and why?
I would compare The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin to We Were Liars, because they have a similar plot.
What about Ariadne Meyers’s performance did you like?
She really seemed to connect with the characters, especially our main character and I could hear the emotion in her voice. I didn't feel like I was being read something. I felt like it was a true performance. I could also easily tell what character she was portraying as she had difference voices for each of them.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it definitely was. I listened to 20 minutes on the way to school, 20 minutes on the way home, and then listened to the rest of it that night. I couldn't not finish it.
Any additional comments?
I was a little wary about reading/listening to this book, but it kept getting such great reviews so I had to try it for myself. I am so happy I did, because this book was mysterious and a serious page turner. I highly recommend everyone to at least try it.
