High adventure and dark mystery combine in a sparkling historical romance, by Jodi Taylor writing as Isabella Barclay from The Chronicles of St. Mary's. A Forever Favorite
Revisado: 03-17-20
I’ve listened and re-listened to this book to the point of memorization. And I never get tired of it, though I do tuck it away to enjoy other of Jodi Taylor’s works, as well. A wonderful author who combines comedy, drama, and heartwarming scenes with ease. And the male protagonist is suitably hunky!

Historia
Bernard Cornwell, the New York Times best-selling "reigning king of historical fiction" (USA Today), tackles his most thrilling, rich, and enthralling subject yet - the heroic tale of Agincourt. The epic battle immortalized by William Shakespeare in his classic Henry V is the background for this breathtaking tale of heroism, love, devotion, and duty from the legendary author of the Richard Sharpe novels and the Saxon Tales.

Excellent but not for the squeamish
Revisado: 02-23-18
I enjoyed listening to this book immensely. Mr. Cornwell transports the reader to a time many of us know very little about and gives, not only a compelling historical overview, but also a beautifully written narrative. It can be dry at points, especially in the beginning, but stick with it! And listen to the author's note at the end.
The one disclaimer I would give is that there are scenes that are both sexually horrific and full of bloody torture. But...those times were hard and cruel, and to leave those pieces out would give the novel a Disney-esk feeling rather than something truthful. Either way, it was a thrilling ride and I would highly recommend it.

Historia
Getting a life isn't always easy. And hanging on to it is even harder.... Jodi Taylor brings all her comic writing skills to this heartwarming tale of self-discovery. Known as The Nothing Girl because of her severe stutter and chronically low self-confidence, Jenny Dove is only just prevented from ending it all by the sudden appearance of Thomas, a mystical golden horse only she can see. Under his guidance Jenny unexpectedly acquires a husband - the charming and chaotic Russell Checkland.

So true it hurt
Revisado: 10-06-17
Besides all the wonderful plot twists, the excellent characters, and a great narrator to pull it all together, this book felt like it had taken a piece of my heart and put it on paper. To be invisible in a room full of people but to find that one special someone who refuses to look right through you. It was a story of pain and growth, of overcoming, and of the best invisible friend a person could ever hope to have. I adored it.

Excellent
Revisado: 07-13-17
Though I've read this book several times, it never quite came to life the way it did when read by Michael Page. His performance is exceptional and I would recommend this version above all others.
