The main character is so unlikable and doesn’t have any character growth until basically the last chapter. I was so hard to listen to a 37 year old woman stomping around throwing temper tantrums because “daddy said I was the best in the world but I’m not”

I thought January was well writes. I could feel what she was feeling, and even though she was more weepy that I like a female lead it dealt realistic for her to cry in those moments. Gus was not as well written in my opinion but he served his purpose

What we’ve been leading up to

I don’t understand the bad reviews for this book. People saying it’s to slow obviously don’t understand the need for the character development that is crucial to rest of the book. Or the people who are mad that a certain character doesn’t get the big happy ending, that means that through good story telling the author made you feel something for the character, become attached to them and care what happens, that’s good writing!

This was an intriguing story but I I think I would have followed along better if I had actually read it instead of listening so I could go back to read read part or flip back easily for reference. It’s also easy to get distracted and miss something and have to rewind

I love the stories that Trevor tells. However, the timeline is so hard to follow. It jumps all over the place, in one story he’s an adult then all the sudden he’s a kid again. Hi life is so interesting, I just wish his editor had made him out the stories in a more cohesive timeline
