Dr. Brown should stick to being a researcher and leave the writing to experts. This book only makes you want to scream out loud for having listen to it in the first place. This is book is braggadocios, self aggrandizing drivel with smattering of advice. The Gift of Imperfection is imperfect. Dreadful. Absolutely terrible.

Andrew Yancy—late of the Miami Police and soon-to-be-late of the Monroe County sheriff’s office—has a human arm in his freezer. There’s a logical (Hiaasenian) explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing).

Carl Hiaasen is consistent as usual. He knocked it out of the park again. He has such a grasp of the Floridian twilight zone mentality. Surely, as an outsider this may seem weird, but as a Floridian...this depiction is the norm. Funny from beginning to end. It certainly keeps your attention, and kudos to narrator Arte Johnson. He is very pleasant to listen to.

At first these two incidents seem to have nothing in common, but as Wallander delves deeper into the mystery of why the girls murdered the cab driver, he begins to unravel a plot much more complicated than he initially suspected.

Greg Bear has invoked his genius once again by creating this wonderful thought provoking masterpiece. It confronts you directly, and forces you to consider the possibilities. It makes you question real from fiction. You find yourself asking what if. I was thoroughly entertained and mentally challenged as well. This is why I enjoyed it so much, because its topic was both enticing and riveting. Masterfully orchestrated, griping you all the way to the end.
