Historia
Rising from the gloom-shrouded cults of Ulgu, the empire of the Daughters of Khaine now dominates the Realm of Shadow. These matriarchal witch-aelves are graceful masters of death who revel in spilling blood, and whose opposition to Chaos borders on mania. Proud governors of their own ruthless agendas, it is their devotion to Khaine, the ancient aelven god of murder, the Daughters seek to prove above all—and alongside it, the favour of his high priestess, Morathi. To this end, a Khainite would bleed the realms dry in dedication to her cause.

Unforgiveably dull
Revisado: 01-02-23
A generic, easily visible plot that reveals itself from the onset of the story which then is plainly written in one of the most boring Age of Sigmar stories I've ever read. I understand this setting needs authors and content, but this bland, stream of consciousness "storytelling" is getting old real fast. I appreciate being immersed in the unique and colorful universe of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar; but this is not the way forward. This is just another cookie-cutter story and the fact it's based in Age of Sigmar feels more like a coincidence than by actual design.

Historia
In the dark corners of the Mortal Realms, the mad and mysterious Gloomspite Gitz go to war, following the trail of their abominable lunar deity. Nowhere is beyond the sight of the Bad Moon—not even those places under Sigmar’s protection, like the sweltering city of Draconium. Beneath the scalding rains of Aqshy, the city is a boiling pot of tension, its regent praying to Sigmar for guidance while Watch Captain Helena Morthan douses the fires of anarchy: blades drawn in the streets, heretical doomsayers preaching the end of days, and insects eating watchmen alive.

Not the worst AoS novel
Revisado: 10-25-22
The final sentence of this novel speaks volumes.
"Thank Sigmar indeed."
I had to agree with the character, because the only enjoyable part of this story was knowing that it was finally over and I could read/listen to something else.
In my opinion, Andy Clark wasn't up to the task of writing an Age of Sigmar novel; much less one about the devious, scheming cretins that are the Gloomspite Gitz. The first half of the novel is nothing but painfully slow fluff and buildup that is utterly bland. The protagonists are equally drab in character and lack any real depth or substance. Rather they fill generic niches and tropes.
When at last the novel does reveal the Gloomspite Gitz, they are woefully undeveloped and feel like an afterthought. Instead the author created and focused on his own brand of "horrifying" enemies known as the "Spore-Sickened" which for all intents and purposes are zombies.
All in all this novel is a frail creation that pales in comparison to similar novels such as Guy Haley's "Skarsnik" and Darius Hinks' "Gitslayer".
But hey, I got some models painted while listening to it. So there's the plus side.

Not bad
Revisado: 02-02-22
Better than dominion. All in all a good little fantasy story with memorable characters and a fun adventure. The author does a great job describing the environment and really makes you feel grounded in the story. Worth the token to listen.
