Classic Murakami

Sputnik Sweetheart is undeniably Murakami, with its familiar themes of a young, introspective protagonist, unrequited love for an older woman, and references to classical music. However, while it carries his signature dreamlike atmosphere, the story lacks the depth and emotional pull of Kafka on the Shore. The characters, particularly Sumire and Miu, feel more like sketches than fully realized figures, making it harder to connect with their journeys. The novel has its moments of beauty and mystery, but it doesn’t reach the same level of complexity or resonance as Murakami’s best works. A worthwhile read for fans, but not his most compelling.

A purposeful life well deserved to be told

I had no clue who Hedi Lamar was other than a famous movie star… Since I love reading historical biographies I also thought this would be a light and fun one listening while working in my ceramic studio. But wow….what a life…and how much her efforts and strength to be appreciated.

The Story is interesting

The story’s focus point of seperating twins and observing their growth and behaviour in the name of science is very interesting but also brutal from humanity perspective. It is both a page turner thriller and makes one thing how science can become disturbing and criminal if let loose

Good Story but could have some more twists and turns

I liked the story as a whole with the exception of the detailed surgery parts…those were boring as I hardly know anything about a surgery room. It’s and interesting story but no surprise at the end.. I was expecting a bit more twists and turns though.

Harlan Coben each time finds a different story from the previous one amd each of them are interesting and so real… his characters are everyday people and stories could happen to everyone..that’ intriguing me

World War 2 in Hong Kong

In the western world we usually learn about the WW2 from the European perspective and have hardly a clue of its damage and consequences on the Chinese…thus it was an interesting historical read with a love story in the front. I enjoyed it however the pain and sorrow became too much and the last few chapters could not keep my interest…I was sort of eager to finish…
