What Happens?
Revisado: 03-07-24
This, while a welcomed update to the characters of One Second After, falls short in the end. The reader unlike the town is left in the dark to the fate of their b State and the Nation. I imagine that in 2015 the author merely assumed that the tiny spark of hope that the nation had got new leadership that may have been heading in the right direction was enough of glimpse to give hope. In 2024 the state of the US, the world and some of its leaders leaves like the ending of this book, something to be desired.

Some people find the Old Testament to be confusing, out of date, and essentially replaced by the New Testament. They are missing out. The Old Testament offers us a grand narrative that reveals God's work, God's purposes, and God's wisdom. Christopher J. H. Wright fits the pieces together and shows us the coherent whole. Using seven key sentences drawn straight from the Old Testament, he connects the dots and points us toward Jesus.

Very difficult to listen to
Revisado: 11-14-22
I purchased this in audible because it is mandatory for a class. I was having a difficult time reading the content and hoped the audio would be better. I unfortunately did not listen to the sample first. This was a great error. The narrator sounds like a computer generated British robot that is having a difficult time knowing where to put the punctuation.
I do not recommend this audible listen. Be sure to sample first.

Historia
When Kristin Kimball left New York City to interview a dynamic young farmer named Mark, her world changed. On an impulse, she shed her city self and started a new farm with him on 500 acres near Lake Champlain. The Dirty Life is the captivating chronicle of the couple’s first year on Essex Farm, from the cold North Country winter through their harvest-season wedding in the loft of the barn.

This sparks my inner homestead yearning
Revisado: 07-16-22
Everything is about personal preference. I am writing this review after listening to this book for the third time. The tone in Kristen's voice paints the picture of each story so well. The softness is almost a whisper. It's a memory she is recalling for her reader or friend. There are countless homestead books that I would consider fluff. They gives the people what they want to hear; hiding the failure, weariness and giant learning curve. The Dirty Life relays all of that. A city/worldly woman struggling to find herself, lose herself and live for someone and something else. All the while jumping head first into her fiance's vision for life. While listening to this book I have ordered her suggested reading. I have, most importantly given myself a realistic expectation for the first year on our little farm, and the prospect of a rhythm and great joy for the years that follow. I will be listening again.

Don't waste a purchase on the abridged version
Revisado: 10-11-20
While the story is wonderful, as are all of the books in this series, the abridged version robs of over 6 hours of story. I purchased the unabridged version and felt I had been ripped off with this book. Don't waste a purchase. Get the unabridged version.

Those who were left behind after the Rapture must now make a crucial decision. Each person must choose whether to receive the mark of the beast, or die. Never has faith in God been more important for the group of believers called the Tribulation Force, who now face danger on all sides. Valiantly, they continue to urge new followers to accept Christ's love.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 10-07-20
This was wonderful! I thought I wouldn't like the narrator however, he performed the voices quite well. The voice of Carpathia was much more fine tuned by the end of the book.
I was enthralled in the story to the point of disappointment at the books conclusion.
This series drives me to the Word. It drives me to the feet of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. It drives me to Jesus.
