This book is so much better than the sci-fi award winning titles
Revisado: 03-27-25
Complete garbage has won all the major sci-fi awards for over a decade. This book is superior to all of them. The narration is perfect. The story is interesting and complex. Do not hesitate to buy this title.

Horrible Military Sci-Fi
Revisado: 03-24-25
The story line is pure fantasy with magical weapons and mumbo jumbo science. There is nothing resembling real sci-fi in this story. The story has some interesting elements destroyed by the magical ones. It is truly ridiculous on so many levels. Do not waste a credit on this. I had it included in my sub and I was grateful not to have any cost except my time … which I do value and it was squandered on this book.

Great Production Dumb Writing
Revisado: 03-08-25
These types of listens are so inspiring from a production standpoint, it really shows how we are able of making great works more compelling to listen to … why not do this for The Brothers K or Tristam Shandy … or even best sellers for that matter. Great production of a mediocre work …

Historia
A window is but a piece of glass through which we view the world outside. It is not meant to distort. It is not intended to do anything but show us things as they are. At Oxford, though, there is a very particular window that reveals a very particular view. It is a view that defies all laws of nature and science. And when a detective is called in to investigate, he is startled to find that view opens a window into his own life–and a mystery he has never been able to solve.

Not a complete waste of time
Revisado: 04-04-24
Mediocre story but well executed. Entertaining yet I would not recommend. It is like those little snacks at Costco, you’re happy to get them for free, but later regret the calories wasted in their consumption.

Historia
Misanthropic psychologist Dr. Grace Park is placed on the Deucalion, a survey ship headed to an icy planet in an unexplored galaxy. Her purpose is to observe the thirteen human crew members aboard the ship - all specialists in their own fields - as they assess the colonization potential of the planet, Eos. But frictions develop as Park befriends the androids of the ship, preferring their company over the baffling complexity of humans, while the rest of the crew treats them with suspicion and even outright hostility.

I tried my best but this is awful.
Revisado: 03-14-24
I don’t understand the choices that the author has made. The lead character is dreadful and in no way interesting. This story does not draw you in at all. I am still listening but it is a chore. I rarely give up on books, this will maybe be first. I will update my review if it gets any better. The narrator is not my favorite. I have heard her to a better job on other titles. I am not sure if that is her fault here or the material she was given.

Historia
There’s been a breakthrough on the campus of Caltech. A discovery. An invention. One so startling and surprisingly sinister that the inventor can’t tell a soul. Precariously poised at the center of the action is Victoria Pixler, a bioengineering student with a tragic past, a passionate quest, and a brilliant mind. After a decade of dedication, she’s just completed her life’s work only to have her dream shattered and her career terminated - by the least likely suspect.
