The stories and characters were interesting. The author got the point across without resorting to the graphic details and harsh language so often used. The narrator kept me listening, was clear and is someone I will add to my list of favorites.

I love a long story and this one was very well told. I am a Dickens fan. The multiple narrators added to my enjoyment. Not for anyone who wants to skip the details.

40 hours too short ...

I was hooked

From the opening paragraph to the end I could not wait to hear the next installment. I have enjoyed many of Follett's tales and this one did not disappoint. The prose was rich and descriptive. I felt that I knew the characters, some of them seemed like my friends. The reader did it justice in tempo and in tone. I enjoyed every minute.
