should have been short story.

knew the ending by the 3rd chapter. Characters unbelievable, especially Juliet who I would strangle if I could in real life.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Just Don't
Revisado: 08-10-20
If you're going to say a novel is set on the NC coast, but it obviously set in lowcountry SC please don't. Anyone with a passing knowledge of coastal NC knows this wasn't set there. The author needed to do so much more research on plants, wildlife, geography (especially geography) that could have made this book relatable and honest. The inconsistencies were maddening for someone who knows the coast of NC. I felt like someone set a Grimm Fairy Tale in Suburban California, is was jarring. Also, the story was not believable at all.
I know people love it, but please if you make the movie, correct the information.
PS No one goes from the coast of NC to Asheville, NC to shop.

One of Lippman's Best
Revisado: 08-10-20
This book had me from the beginning and did not let go. Everything was well plotted and the characters were richly defined. You just can't go wrong with a good Laura Lippman novel.

When Detective Nick Fourcade enters the home of Genevieve Gauthier outside the sleepy town of Bayou Breaux, Louisiana, the bloody crime scene that awaits him is both the most brutal and the most confusing he's ever seen. Worst Cajun French Accent
Revisado: 08-10-20
Although I thought the story line of this book was ok, the narration all but ruined if for me. Imagine Peppy LePew narrating is all I can offer. There were many mispronunciations along the way that made it unbelievable as well. Anyone who has listened to a James Lee Burke Robicheaux novel will be sorely disappointed.
The only thing that kept me going was buying the a paperback copy and reading major parts of the book.
