That ending leaves soooo much to be desired. I can't wait for the next book. Also, I've never had a book make me sob before: a tear jerker like Homeward Bound, the Never Ending Story, and the Land Before Time all rolled into one....

Not a Trilogy 😭

I started reading this book assuming that the series would be a trilogy as most of hers are...only it wasn't! Now I'm waiting impatiently for the next book in the series to hopefully find out how we get the unwelcome interloper out of the manor! Just tell me when I can pre-order lol

Slow burn with an awful ending

I have over 600 books in my collection and this one falls solidly in the bottom 5. It takes forever for the author to wind up the story; it finally gets good about 3/4 in, then the author completely bombs the ending. I'd really like the 9+ hours of my life back on this one. Definitely NOT worth the credit.

The number of repeated lines in this story is awful. Did anyone actually listen to the recording through before publishing? Especially when the Author is recording her own story, she should care more about the final product. I purchased this and the first book at the same time, so I'm hoping the full books are edited with more care.

I can't tell you how often I find myself thinking about these amazing characters or the world they're placed in. It's one of those stories that gets you invested. I can't wait to read the next chapter, the next book, the next trilogy.

Story yes, Narration no

I've now listened to all 21 books in this series, this was one of my favorite storylines but the narration was absolutely horrible. I also found myself correcting the words along the way - Dividelands/Seymour... it's too late in the game to make these kinds of changes.

Horrible Narration

I loved the first book in the series but really struggled to get through this one because of the narrator. I have finished well over 500 audiobooks and this is by far the worst narration I have ever encountered. Very disappointing from a Nora Roberts series.

More of a how to book on three/foursomes

What do you think your next listen will be?

I have followed this series from the beginning, and although Laurell has her smuttier moments in some of the books, this one is pure smut and nothing else. No zombies, no fight scenes, just shoveling emotional baggage in bed.

Any additional comments?

I recommend skipping this book and going straight into Dead Ice.

Surprise!

This book is a real surprise; it goes places you won't see coming. I listened to The Fold at 1.25 speed, which added to the excitement for me.
