Historia
We all want to find happiness. But how do we go about it? In this easygoing and clear-sighted guide, celebrated Buddhist meditation and philosophy master Khangser Rinpoche provides us with down-to-earth advice on how to train our minds and find our own innate wisdom and kindness along the way. He helps us see the profound insight that is open to us all, and how it can awaken us to the truth of the way things are. This insight into the truth, and the practices that help you cultivate this awareness, transform suffering into wisdom and compassion—and ultimately joy.

Historia
Queen Elizabeth II’s death ruptured the already-fractured foundations of the House of Windsor—and dismantled the protective shield around it. With an institution long plagued by antiquated ideas around race, class and money, the monarchy and those who prop it up are now exposed and at odds with a rapidly modernizing world.

Change is inevitable!
Revisado: 01-09-24
The author brilliantly weaves the past and present together to explain this complex royal family. His predictions about the monarch’s future challenge the values and sensibilities being traded to maintain their image and way of life. The only thing constant in this world is change and this is a story about an institution resistant to it. The heartbreaking reality is that this family trades off positive relationships with their own family members to hold onto dying traditions and ego-centric values. Unfortunately, it seems to bother this family more to lose commonwealth states than to lose brothers and loved ones. I appreciate the British royal family reminding me what I value about my own family, and I wish them peace when the forces of change inevitably wash over them.

Well researched and well written
Revisado: 12-04-21
This book reads like a novel that is filled with twists and complex plots. If this story were fiction, you might be skeptical, but since it is a true story, you find yourself stunned. Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the opioid crisis, the privilege of wealth, or the justifications one tells when morally bankrupt. Thank you PRK for educating the public and bringing to light this tragic reality.

A well-told story of EJ's journey to an authentic life. At times, his story is painful and raw. It literally hurts to read. Then he celebrates a great achievement, and his life feels like the ups and downs we all have. EJ has more intense highs and lows than most of us. In the end, you can't help but love the man who made the most out of following a dream and reminds us all what really matters. Thank you EJ for sharing yourself - the good and the less impressive choices- with the world.

Historia
Lyra's story begins in the Haven Institute, a building tucked away on a private island off the coast of Florida that from a distance looks serene and even beautiful. But up close, the locked doors, military guards, and biohazard suits tell a different story. In truth Haven is a clandestine research facility where thousands of replicas, or human models, are born, raised, and observed. When a surprise attack is launched on Haven, two of its young experimental subjects - Lyra, or 24, and the boy known only as 72 - manage to escape.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

When Beth arrives in DC, she hates everything about it: the confusing traffic circles, the ubiquitous Ann Taylor suits, the humidity that descends each summer. At dinner parties, guests compare their security clearance levels. They leave their BlackBerrys on the table. They speak in acronyms. And once they realize Beth doesn't work in politics, they smile blandly and turn away.

Historia
Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race”, a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of Black women and men - bodies exploited through slavery and segregation and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a Black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’ attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son.
