Should have been titled Thrawn and Pryce
Revisado: 12-31-17
Would you try another book from Timothy Zahn and/or Marc Thompson?
Love Zahn's work, he is a great writer. This book though, has too much about Arihnda Pryce. Should have had a companion novel/novella on her rise perhaps?
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Thrawn bringing himself to the attention of the Empire was most interesting. How Pryce rose to power, least interesting.
Any additional comments?
Loved the Thrawn character from the original (now Legends trilogy). Needed more of him, in a book that is titled Thrawn. Arihnda Pryce is interesting in her own right, and deserved her own story.

How did a New York-born, Jewish, former-atheist novelist and screenwriter - a winner of multiple Edgar Awards, whose books became films with Clint Eastwood and Michael Douglas - find himself at the age of 50 being baptized and confessing Jesus as Lord? That's a tale worth telling.

Knowledge, facts, and more knowledge. Spectacular.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Professor Vejas Gabriel Liulevicius?

A great add to the Star Wars canon!
Revisado: 01-06-16
Would you listen to Star Wars: Darth Plagueis again? Why?
Yes. Just for Daniel Davis alone
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
If you only knew the power of the Dark Side.
Any additional comments?
A bit slow at items, and a little to deep into the political side and; the further explanation of medichlorians was not something I needed from the Star Wars universe.
That being said, the book was written well, and Daniel Davis's performance was unbelievable. He brought the characters to life like no other I have have ever heard.

Great personal story of an abandoned child's search for his biological family. The evidence and motive presented that his father was the Zodiac, though interesting, was not overly convincing.

Historia
James Hetfield, with whom many years ago Mustaine founded a band known as Metallica, once observed, with some incredulity, that Mustaine must have been born with a horseshoe up his ass. That's how lucky he's been, how fortunate he is to be pulling breath after so many close calls. And Hetfield is right. Mustaine has been lucky. He has been blessed. But here's the thing about having a horseshoe lodged in your rectum: It also hurts like hell. And you never forget it's there.

Narration a bit week, story a bit brisk
Revisado: 02-27-15
Narrator could have been better. Got annoyed when he was 'quoting'.
Should have been a bit longer. The story jumped ahead a bit too fast, leaving many holes. I wished for more detail regarding Marty Friedman and 'Juniors' exit.
All in all a good listen though.

Bored me to death
Revisado: 11-07-13
What disappointed you about The Third Terrorist?
Chiefly, the narrator. The way he changed voices just drove me nuts. The writing was at best; average.
Would you ever listen to anything by Jayna Davis again?
NO!
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
None that I could see, did not finish it - just bored me.
Any additional comments?
Thought this would be a compelling book, based on what I had read about it. It was not. I still believe that there is more to this story, but I did not have the patience to go all the way through this title to learn more.

For the past 30 years, David Mamet has been a controversial and defining force in theater and film, championing the most cherished liberal values along the way. In some of the great movies and plays of our time, his characters have explored the ethics of the business world, embodied the struggles of the oppressed, and faced the flaws of the capitalist system. But in recent years Mamet has had a change of heart.

A brilliant examination!
Revisado: 03-26-13
Would you listen to The Secret Knowledge again? Why?
I must admit, I was reticent to download this book when it popped-up as a recommendation on my feed. How could a legendary script writer and playwright (and recently converted conservative) pull off a political book? Well he does, and at the end of the book, Mamet explains why he tackled the project.
The book shows him to be the wordsmith, that I guess should be expected from such man that has toiled with words for more than four decades.
His insights are vast, his examination of of issues; thought provoking throughout.
A great listen, and a good starting point for anyone that has recently left the 'tolerant', progressive herd.
Heller's naration was top- notch. His pauses, and emphasis' were on cue.
Will certainly listen fully through again in the near future.
If you could give The Secret Knowledge a new subtitle, what would it be?
My journey from the dark-side of the 'tolerant'
