Historia
Cut loose from his former life at the coroner’s office, Clay Edison has set up shop as a private investigator. It’s steady, safe work. Until it isn’t. The trouble begins when a young man, tasked with managing his grandmother’s estate, hires Clay to examine some minor financial discrepancies. What starts off as a case of simple fraud rapidly explodes into a web of deception, an elaborate con game stretching back decades and involving countless victims. All the evidence points to a tiny town on California’s rugged, remote Lost Coast.

The Bookworm Box is proud to present Two More Days, our second anthology installment. Much like the first installment, Two More Days is an exciting and unique listening experience with contributions from several of our charity's featured authors. Each author was given the same first sentence. Where they took that sentence was completely up to them.

Lukewarm reviews were overstated
Revisado: 05-08-24
Hard to explain how bad this is; I actually went back and checked to see if this was a young adults book. The reader sounds like they are very young; on one of the stories she doesn’t pause in the right sentence flow places so it’s even odder. The storyline is right out of a teen magazine with some profanity sprinkled in; don’t bother

Really interesting concept
Revisado: 04-29-24
Quite poignant but also very sad. So clearly posits the fragile line between our image of ourselves and the reality of that image when tested in the worst possible way

Historia
It's a deadly dilemma for Martin Odum: both remembering and forgetting his past are dangerous options. A discharged CIA agent turned private detective, Odum is struggling through a labyrinth of memories from past identities, "legends", in CIA parlance. Is he really Martin Odum? Or is he Dante Pippen, IRA explosives specialist? Or Lincoln Dittmann, Civil War expert? Or another, hidden legend?

A Case of Narrater distaste
Revisado: 11-30-23
I've read a couple of other books by Carlene O'connor and enjoyed them. These storys are simple minded and the narrator sounds as though she has a bad cold and is half awake. Slow motion and awful. Glad i didn't pay much for it.

Can’t rate the book because the reader is so bad. What I got through was sophomoric. Wish I hadn’t spent the $7.99 on this mess.

I’m not sure there’s a single cliche about the South, attorneys, crooked law enforcement, drug kingpins etc. I’m amazed at the high reviews. Did these folks listen to the same book I did?

Historia
Ninety-one-year-old Gretel Fernsby has lived in the same well-to-do mansion block in London for decades. She lives a quiet, comfortable life, despite her deeply disturbing, dark past. She doesn’t talk about her escape from Nazi Germany at age 12. She doesn’t talk about the grim post-war years in France with her mother. Most of all, she doesn’t talk about her father, who was the commandant of one of the Reich’s most notorious extermination camps. All The Broken Places moves between Gretel’s girlhood in Germany to present-day London as a woman haunted by the past.
