This is an audiobook I will be listening to over and over again. The narrator Cassandra Campbell was excellent. Her voice is soothing and compliments the subject. Tara Brach uses examples and stories to expand her point. There is Buddhist emphasis but don’t let that stop you from exploring the truths that indeed will make you free. Thank you both.

A Must Listen

This is the kind of book I wish I had listened to years ago and one I would recommend if things are not quite right in your relationship or if you want to improve it. Terry presents facts that enlightened us as to why we act the way we do. It’s not as haphazard or senseless as we think. There were times I was brought to tears but his encouragement and step by step method to make things better made this book one I will listen to over and over again. I truly didn’t want the book to end .

Insightful

The author described in detail how our actions and thoughts are not haphazard but products of our upbringing and heritage. Parts of the book touched me deeply and I plan to read again and do the practice exercises. I did not like the spiritual part of the book. Too many things have happened in my life for me to be able to accept an all loving God and in my opinion all religions are lacking in what is preached- it’s a story fueled by money . Maybe when I re-read I will better understand that part of the book. One last comment- I liked the narrator.

A Keeper

Thorough and informative . The book provides practice along with the lectures. The voice was a little high pitch and it took time to get used to it. Other than that, would recommend. Take your time, enjoy the journey

The Way it Is

At times I wanted to cry at times I was angry with life and the injustices we must live with. I liked the straightforward presentation and the narrator’s voice. No words are minced as we see what its like to know that death is at the door. All the religious frosting is taken away and just the bare facts remain.

This book's main theme seemed to be finding yourself using Buddhist principles . The author talked too much about himself. Yes, there were case histories of different people but nothing that I feel the average joe blow could relate to. Left me with feeling ... so after all that now what?

Informative

I feel this book was written mostly for women in their fifties. I read with interest the few times 70 year olds were mentioned. Maybe it's because at this stage of the game men want us to continue swinging from the chandelier . Actually I was looking forward to this time of my life free from expectations. This book busted my balloon . I seriously wonder how accurate the studies and statistics are. The constant mention of going to see a sex therapist was annoying. Not everyone can afford that remedy.

Maybe Not for Me Right Now

This was my introduction to Audible and was free. Disappointed with this book so sorry I used my freebie on it. Maybe it gets better but just couldn’t get pass the first two chapters
