A likable story
Revisado: 05-17-23
I enjoyed this book and will continue on in the series.
The reader while not Scott Brick did start to slowly go into a acceptable reader. He lacks emotion in his voice

Historia
In a riveting debut thriller that has drawn comparisons to masters of the genre like Dennis Lehane and Michael Connelly, Brian Freeman weaves obsession, sex, and revenge into a story that grips the reader with vivid characters and shocking plot twists from the first minute to the last.

Good listen

This book kept me interested from start to finish. I will definitely listen to more books by Freeman.
The reader did the male characters well but was a little week on the females.

Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Hard to care
Revisado: 10-24-18
My thoughts,
I found myself not caring about anyone in the story.
King is obsessed with references to spit/spittal.
Normally I like very detailed descriptions of people and places but I found the descriptions of the gunslinger to be incredibly repetitive.
The book could/should have been condensed into a third of its size. So much of what takes place seemed to be pointless other than to fill time.
I will give the next book in the series a shot based on all the positive reviews but if it isn't significantly better I wont go any farther.
