What she doesn't expect is Tiggy's diary to be left out every day. Knowing what her lodger gets up to, she is unable to resist reading it. It's not quite what she expects, and the revelations quickly lead her down a path she never expected to take.

Hazel Jones, a 35-year-old professor and honored academic at the fields of Biodiversity and Environment, lives a quite common life, dates a nice and understanding colleague, works for sustainable development, fights against bad use of natural resources, so and so, but something bothers her... Not exactly what is there, but what is not, what is missing in her life, more specifically, in her sexual life...
Dr. Jones is not satisfied at all. She wants more: her fantasies of being taken by several man at once, fantasies of being tied, bound and even spanked torment her incessantly. Muscular men aligning in front of her, giving and receiving all pleasure she had been denying herself for so many years... Wow, that's a lot happening inside her mind... That's when Tiggy, one of her most brilliant female students, asks for being her lodger. Nothing special happens, however, until Hazel starts to secretly read Tiggy's private diary... That small and delicate notebook turns Hazel's life upside down...
Listening to the story is highly enjoyable. The author cleverly approaches several delicate subjects, in a well-humored and intelligent way. That's probably one of the best features of this book: the witty ways the author leads the reader along the story. Background and parallel plots are quite shallow, but there is no problem about it, the way Hazel's intimate dilemmas are presented are so nice... as well as her sexual adventures... Reader's performance is also very good, specially the impersonation of the obnoxious but highly-seductive Miles, who brings the listener most of the finest moments of the narrative.
Highly recommended!

We are receiving signals from above all the time. When God Winks proposes that these signals, or coincidences, can, if we pay attention, serve as reassurances that we are on the right path and signposts to our future. Like winks from a loving parent or grandparent, coincidences are messages from your Maker telling you that you are not alone and that everything will be okay.

How do you know that you're following the right path? Is there any way to influence the chain of events in such a way that your wishes may turn into reality? Well, according to the author, every coincidence you experience in life is a sign from God, a confirmation that you are doing the right thing. In a nutshell: being aware of coincidences may lead you closer to God's messages.
It isn't that smooth, anyway... After exposing his theory, Rusnhell overloads the listener with tons of empirical data, intended to prove that, yes, every time you face a coincidence, you are actually receiving a divine message, confirming that you are meant to succeed – a "go on" sign for your journey.
Examples that support Rushnell's thesis go from the most trivial events to intricate conspiracy-like plots. If you bump into Kevin Costner when going to your father's funeral, well, you might be about to get married! (not with Costner, unfortunately, but, anyway, you're getting married, that's what matters...). Job opportunities that show up at the most unpredictable situations: straightforward indications of guaranteed success. Past, present and future mystically connected: what to say about the amazing coincidence of JFK walking directly to shake hands with a anonymous sixteen-year-old Bill Clinton during a bureaucratic celebration at the White House in 1963? Couldn't there be a clearer sign of divine providence? (I just don't know how Monica's eventual winks adds to this equation, but, anyway, here we go...).
Going a little further, the author offers some advice for those who want to get more godly winks for their lives. Wishful thinking revisited and powered by mystical euphoria? Well, I'm not sure about it, but, if you buy the idea, your listening experience can be highly enjoyable. Rushnell's performance as reader is, of course, great, and the stories are quite unexpected and interesting (at least some of them are, others are a little goofy...).
Bottom line: this is the ideal book in case you feel that peaceful bliss which comes by discovering that the number of letters in the names of the murderers of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy are the same, that both presidents were succeeded by a vice-president called Johnson, whose names have also the same number of letters... Well, that's not my case, as you must have realized...
