Historia
Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm II, who occupied the throne of the German Empire for more than 30 years from June 1888 to November 1918, remains as much an enigma in death as he was in life. Over 70 years after his death in 1941, the mention of his name still sparks unsettled debates among historians. Was he the duty-bound, hands-on leader and passionate pro-British reformer who ruled in challenging times, seemingly mild in comparison to Hitler?

Historia
Heinz Linge worked with Adolf Hitler for a 10 year period from 1935 until the Fuhrer's death in the Berlin bunker in May 1945. He was one of the last to leave the bunker and was responsible for guarding the door while Hitler killed himself. During his years of service, Linge was responsible for all aspects of Hitler's household and was constantly by his side. He claims that only Eva Braun stood closer to Hitler over these years. Through a host of anecdotes and observations, Linge recounts the daily routine in Hitler's household; his eating habits, his foibles, his preferences, his sense of humour, and his private life with Eva Braun.

Historia
From 1934 until 1944, Mussolini met Hitler numerous times, and the two developed a relationship that deeply affected both countries. While Germany is generally regarded as the senior power, Christian Goeschel demonstrates just how much history has underrepresented Mussolini's influence on his German ally. Goeschel, a scholar of 20th-century Germany and Italy, revisits all of Mussolini and Hitler's key meetings and asks how these meetings constructed a powerful image of a strong Fascist-Nazi relationship that still resonates with the general public.

Historia
At the beginning of 1940 Germany was at the pinnacle of its power. By May 1945 Hitler was dead and Germany had suffered a disastrous defeat. Hitler had failed to achieve his aim of making Germany a super power and had left its people to cope with the endless shame of the Holocaust. In The Hitler Years - Disaster 1940-1945, Professor Frank McDonough charts the dramatic change of fortune for the Third Reich and challenges long-held accounts of the Holocaust and Germany's ultimate defeat.

Hailed as the most compelling biography of the German dictator yet written, Ian Kershaw's Hitler brings us closer than ever before to the heart of its subject's immense darkness. Ian Kershaw's Hitler brings us closer than ever before to the character of the bizarre misfit in his thirty-year ascent from a Viennese shelter for the indigent to uncontested rule over the German nation that had tried and rejected democracy in the crippling aftermath of World War I.

Historia
In the years before the First World War, the great European powers were ruled by three first cousins: King George V of Britain, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Together, they presided over the last years of dynastic Europe and the outbreak of the most destructive war the world had ever seen, a war that set twentieth-century Europe on course to be the most violent continent in the history of the world.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 11-16-19
Mirand a Carter has written a book which shows the three cousins as who they really are - not what has been projected in history books. She shows Wilhelm for who he is small minded, insecure and ego centered. How he had survived can be questioned if ones does not know the culture of the time. George and Nicholas who are weak and di not want the crowns. But at least in George he grew into a good king while Nicholas destroyed his country and family. There were times that I laughed and other times I cringed. Very well written. Rosalyn Landor read the book so well. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in history.

Historia
This is the intimate story of 20 tsars and tsarinas, some touched by genius, some by madness, but all inspired by holy autocracy and imperial ambition. Simon Sebag Montefiore's gripping chronicle reveals their secret world of unlimited power and ruthless empire building, overshadowed by palace conspiracy, family rivalries, sexual decadence, and wild extravagance, with a global cast of adventurers, courtesans, revolutionaries, and poets, from Ivan the Terrible to Tolstoy and Pushkin.

Brilliant
Revisado: 11-16-19
I have read many works on the last imperial family of Russia. This is the best that I have read( heard). Detailed information concerning all the members of the Romanovs - from Michael to Nicholas II. Simon Beale's reading made the book real.s we learn more about the family. He pronounce the difficult Russian names with great ease. I have gained so much more information concerning this last autocratic family of Europe. They lasted 300 years. and I have seen how they did that with suppression, blood and very little understanding of the Russian people. The people who supported the country an the realm. Simon Montefiore shares information in such detail I feel I have seen this family in a more complete manner. i would encourage this book to anyone who knows the history and those who do not !

Historia
In the second half of the 20th century New York was the source of new sounds, including the Greenwich Village folk scene, punk and new wave, and hip-hop. But as the end of the millennium neared, cutting-edge bands began emerging from Seattle, Austin, and London, pushing New York further from the epicenter. The behemoth music industry, too, found itself in free fall, under siege from technology. Then 9/11/2001 plunged the country into a state of uncertainty and war.

Revisado: 03-27-18
What made the experience of listening to Meet Me in the Bathroom the most enjoyable?
It is an oral history, so it lends itself to this type of medium.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was happy with the ending, it wrapped up the story nicely.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Charlie Thurston and Nicol Zanzarella ?
They were great, but you needed more voices so we can differentiate between the characters.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Lots of funny stuff.
