Historia
Lark Smith has always had a plan for her life: find a fantastic guy, create a marriage as blissful as her parents’, pop out a couple of kids, and build a rewarding career as an oncologist. Things aren’t going so well. For one, the guy didn’t work out. Theoretically, she’d love to find someone else, but it hasn’t happened. Two, she’s just been transferred out of Oncology for being too emotional. (Is it her fault she’s a weeper?) Three, her parents just split up. Deviating from the plan was … well, not in the plan. A potential solution comes from the foul-tempered surgeon Lorenzo Santini.

I really liked Lark. I was rooting for her.
Revisado: 06-05-24
I always enjoy Kristan Higgins’ books. You can relate to her characters as they stumble their way along, making mistakes and having embarrassing moments, meaning well, taking a few wrong turns as they find their path. Lark is so obviously a caring person who undervalues herself and is driven by other people’s opinions. It is heartening to watch her find her strength.

Historia
Jedidiah Stephens came to the Colorado Rockies for one reason: to uncover the truth behind the fire that killed her family. She’s been chasing down clues, and everything has led her to an isolated campground. Her plan is to get a job there so she can investigate who comes and goes. Getting involved with her boss, Memphis Osborn, the ruggedly handsome groundskeeper, is definitely not part of the plan. When Jedidiah arrives on the scene, Memphis just knows she's up to something. He can see the desperation in her eyes and warily agrees to hire her.

The horrible narration makes it almost impossible to listen
Revisado: 12-29-23
I love Lori Foster’s books, but this narrator’s voice is annoying. The female voices shopping like cartoon characters.

Historia
Hunter Osborn left his family, his friends and his job as a park ranger after uncovering a disturbing crime scene. Haunted by nightmares and dark thoughts, Hunter relocated to a small cabin outside of Ridge Trail, Colorado, where he lives off the land (and mostly off the grid). To pay the bills, he works on classic cars, keeping his interactions with others to a minimum. Still, Hunter can spot trouble from a mile away, and when he encounters Jodi Bentley, he knows she’s trouble of the most tempting kind—even more tempting when she moves into the run-down cabin next door.

Female voices detract
Revisado: 02-25-23
I love Lori Foster’s books. This story is compelling and I’m struggling to continue, but the narrator is distracting me. The female voices horrible and detract from the character’s personality. They male voices don’t have much distinction between characters. All in all, I have to struggle to stay engaged. I hope the narration is improved for the next book.
