Such a beautiful depiction of the unfolding a life!
Revisado: 01-19-24
This storytelling was superb. I especially love all the references and analogies around water and how it was her dad who birthed the love of water in her…
Well done Keri!!!

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Educated - an unexpected gem
Revisado: 09-10-19
This story is told by the storyteller was the best depiction not just coming of age but it coming of identity experience that I am so privileged to have been privy to. Tara Westover has a style of language and writing that clearly paints the picture in mind and the feelings in my soul of what she endured. But the best part was how she conquered and in spite of her circumstances achieved many great things.
A must read!

The pleasure of reading, rather listening to this via Audible, was like cocktails and girl time. I felt like more than a ‘reader’ but more like a girlfriend and this book was like sacred story time. I feel like part of a secret club. Thx Gabrielle!
