This story was immersive and thrilling. I enjoyed the modern radio show feel. The story was predictable, but the characters are worth following again.

The end was quick, but the author wrapped up the lives of the characters pretty well. Being a series, I could see many of these characters coming back and I wouldn’t mind it in the least.

Short but through look into Chruchill’s life. I learned many nuances of this man that I only knew of as a great speaker. He is resilience and someone who stays true to their beliefs.

Entertaining Celtic Knot of a Story

I’ve listend to the first story (The Pine Barrens Stratagem) and was hooked with the sarcasm and pop culture references. This second story picks up shortly left off and elevates the comedy and crime puzzles bar that was set by the first, where the same problems stem from the Same source, somehow (still didn’t see that coming despite knowing it would).
New characters are introduced without forgetting what made the original characters great. I look forward to the third story.
I don’t want to say goodbye to this characters, ever.

70s Detective Story Written for the Modern World

This is the first book I’ve read that has not only made me laugh out loud, but also write about what the world has faced in the last few years.
If you like your characters sarcastic, witty, and dare I say, human, this story is perfect for you. The MC isn’t the only with the “good lines” and each character has such a distinct voice (written and audio). The personalities are relatable and almost mimic the people you see in day to day life.
Luckily although this book is set during a politically charged climate, you never once can tell what the author’s political preferences are. He stays true to his characters and I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Quick paranormal read

I’m one to listen at 2 times speed or more and this story was easy to follow. If there were moments I wasn’t clear on who was speaking (because I was multitasking) the dialogue tags grounded me quickly along with the narrators voice.
Short chapters are perfect stopping points but there were enough cliffhangers to make me reluctant.
Now I need book 2 & 3 as an audio book.
