Historia
We meet our narrator hanging around the nail salon where her mother works, eavesdropping on her conversation with one of the regulars, Helen. But she’s really hoping to see Helen’s daughter, Patty - older, rebellious, and completely captivating. When Helen invites her over to their house to help organize a home office, she jumps at the opportunity. But as the day goes on, she encounters something she shouldn’t and gets caught up in the sinister nature of other people’s property and private lives.

Historia
If Avery Chambers can’t fix you in 10 sessions, she won’t take you on as a client. Her successes are phenomenal—she helps people overcome everything from domineering parents to assault—and almost absorbs the emptiness she sometimes feels since her husband’s death. Marissa and Mathew Bishop seem like the golden couple—until Marissa cheats. She wants to repair things, both because she loves her husband and for the sake of their eight-year-old son. After a friend forwards an article about Avery, Marissa takes a chance on this maverick therapist.

You have to read this to the end!
Revisado: 06-18-23
At first, I thought this was going to be a trite story about a glamorous couple who had an infidelity in their marriage.
As the book progressed, I became more and more interested in its twists and turns, and the ending made it anything but trite. Liked the story being told by both the therapist and the wife. Dialogue was well written.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Excellent Historical Fiction
Revisado: 03-05-23
This is a realistic depiction of lives of women scientists in the 60’s. Things began changing dramatically after the cultural revolution of the 70’s, This book tells what things were like in the 60’s. Maybe you had to be there to believe it.
I applaud Bonnie for capturing the essence of conditions faced and overcome.
This book was a joy to read—it clearly captures where women were and how far we have come. Further changes are needed, but now women can have a voice in advancing them.

Historia
Robin Windsor has spent most of her life under an assumed name, running from her family's ignominious past. She thought she'd finally found sanctuary in her rather unremarkable used bookstore just up the street from the marina in River City, Michigan. But the store is struggling and the past is hot on her heels. When she receives an eerily familiar book in the mail on the morning of her father's scheduled execution, Robin is thrown back to the long-lost summer she met Peter Flynt, the perfect boy who ruined everything.

Delightful!
Revisado: 10-04-21
The performance of this story was exceptional! I found it relaxing to hear, the vocal pleasant and expression emotional. I listened to this in one sitting; that is something I never did before! The story never drags, and I kept wanting to hear “just one bit more.” It isn’t a heavy tale, but still thought-provoking. It’d make a great chick-flick!

Historia
The day Anna McDonald's quiet, respectable life explodes starts off like all the days before: Packing up the kids for school, making breakfast, listening to yet another true crime podcast. Then her husband comes downstairs with an announcement, and Anna is suddenly, shockingly alone. Reeling, desperate for distraction, Anna returns to the podcast. Other people's problems are much better than one's own - a sunken yacht, a murdered family, a hint of international conspiracy. But this case actually is Anna's problem. She knows one of the victims from an earlier life.

Well done story with psychological insights into relationships
Revisado: 05-24-20
I began listening to this story, and couldn’t make it through the first chapter, as it sounded uninspired...but it is for a Book Club discussion so I tried again a week later. By the second chapter I was hooked!
I thoroughly enjoyed this — it was an unpredictable story, right on to the last few minutes.
It was easy to understand Nikki, the main character, why she did what she did.
Through this book, learned a bit about some of my own relationships.
Would highly recommend it to any open-minded person.
Definitely glad I listened to it.
