Historia
On December 16, 1945, Prince Konoe committed suicide after refusing to collaborate with US Army officer Bonner Fellers in Operation Blacklist. His refusal to exonerate Emperor Hirohito and the imperial family of war crimes responsibilities. A week before he took the cyanide, he wrote a memoir regarding his experience governing Imperial Japan during World War 2. The memoir shows many efforts of Prince Konoe's efforts for negotiations with Chinese and US government officials to try to end the war early as well as his governing during a time of crisis.

Excellent Book with Great Insight!
Revisado: 12-25-20
This is an excellent book with eye-opening insight on the negotiations that occurred before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. It is well written and the audiobook narration is high quality too. The book does an excellent job of explaining the Japanese perspective of dialogue and discussions with the United States as well as all of the internal political turmoil they were dealing with in addition to their international issues with China, Russia, and the European war. Jenny Chan's other books are excellent too and I'm now a fan!

Historia
A one-stop start-up guide from an accountant-turned-restaurateur. Ninety percent of all restaurants fail, and those that succeed happened upon that mysterious X factor, right? Wrong! A man of many hats - money-guy, restaurant owner, and restaurant consultant - Roger Fields shows how a restaurant can survive its first year and keep diners coming back for years. Featuring real-life start-up stories (including many of the author's own), this comprehensive how-to walks listeners through the logistics of opening a restaurant: concept, location, menu, staff, and, most important, profit.

Excellent and covers it all.
Revisado: 04-19-20
For someone like me who has been out of the industry for a while and wants to jump back in, it reviews a lot of what I knew and covers a lot of the changes that have happened. I appreciate the humanistic approach it has as well as the excellent tips and examples of past experiences.

Historia
Without John C. Houbolt, a mid-level engineer at NASA, Apollo 11 would never have made it to the moon. Top NASA engineers on the project, including Werner Von Braun, strongly advocated for a single, huge spacecraft to travel to the moon, land, and return to Earth. It's the scenario used in 1950s cartoons and horror movies about traveling to outer space. Houbolt had another idea: Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. LOR would link two spacecraft in orbit while the crafts were travelling at 3,600 miles an hour around the moon. His plan was ridiculed and considered unthinkable.
