Historia
Enjoy the first novels that brought the world two of Agatha Christies’ most enduring detectives: Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. The Murder at the Vicarage is the first Miss Marple mystery, one which tests all her powers of observation and deduction. In The Mysterious Affair at Styles, Captain Arthur Hastings, invalided in the Great War, is recuperating as a guest of John Cavendish at Styles Court, the "country-place" of John's autocratic old aunt, Emily Inglethorpe.

Strange choice for a narrator
- De Krystyn en 10-28-12
Joan Hickson’ narration was removed from my purchase!
Revisado: 09-10-23
I specifically bought this book because Murder in the Vicarage was narrated by Joan Hickson and she does it brilliantly. I’d love to listen to it particularly to help me fall asleep. I’ve listen to it about 100 times that’s why I bought it! But suddenly it was replaced in my library by another version with Richard Grant narrating the section rather than Joan Hickson. I really hate this and I’m angry that Audible did this. In fact Audible has dumped nearly ALL the Joan Hickson recordings! It is a shame!!!

I really loved this one!
Revisado: 09-08-23
Lots of great stories and info! I’ll be getting a sandwich at Buckys later this month for sure! But I especially loved what you said about Jimmy Carter, truly a great American - who is progressive and pro life because he is an American Baptist not a Southern Baptist! See you in Hershey! Can’t wait!

'Between the Stops is a sort of a memoir, my sort. It's about a bus trip really, because it's my view from the Number 12 bus (mostly top deck, the seat at the front on the right), a double-decker that plies its way from Dulwich, in South East London, where I was living, to where I sometimes work - at the BBC, in the heart of the capital. It's not a sensible way to write a memoir at all, probably, but it's the way things pop into your head as you travel, so it's my way'.

I loved this book the first time I listened to it and have listened many more times. Amazingly I was listening to it in the car when she recounted passing South of the Border as a child, just as my own car passed South of the Border that still sports the racist signs. Not sure why anyone who be surprised that Sandi Toksvig is a feminist, as she is a founder of the UK’s Women’s Party! She is a terrific writer and a wonderful really delightful narrator! I have several of her other books as well. And am an avid watcher of Qi. I hope she continues to writer many more books.
