"The Prosecutors" podcast brings reason and sanity to the chaotic world of true crime. Brett and Alice cut through the distractions to the heart of the matter: facts and reasonable hypotheses based thereon. 5 stars.

AA's hyper progressivism shines through this low information screed against the strong men currently in positions of power around the globe.
"Greedy people getting rich" is a tired cliche but I guess we're all Marxists now. People with more money than God continue to exercise power for complex reasons, few of which are treated here. It's a snooze fest

things I learned from Professor Main's excellent lectures:
The rules governing lawsuits in our courtrooms have evolved over time from the experience of judges doing the difficult work resolving our disputes peacefully, fairly, with justice.
These rules, as complicated as they are, make sense. they are not arbitrary or biassed.
They are more than sensible, they are wise.
I used to think of a lawsuit as one party going to the government to have their problems fixed for them.
False.
A lawsuit is a dispute between two parties who have been unable to resolve things in the ordinary manner. They are then brought into a public venue where their dispute is watched over, guided, managed, tweaked into place, put into clear and meaningful terms, all with the goal of having them see light and come to terms. Only when this process doesn't lead them to a free and fair resolution (probably a lot of ego here) does the governmental authority then step in a provide the answer.
Civil procedure is freedom managed by reason and the wisdom of the ages.
Thank you Professor

James Renner has made a lifelong commitment to assisting in solving crimes against the young. . the cops don't like him, interested parties don't look like him. he's a gadfly ... like Socrates . this is a moving and revealing biography of this life in it's early stages. It's great and James is a national treasure

this is the most incoherent document I've ever seen published. the sentences are grammatical but appear at random in the text. some of them are about Wendell willkie.

if Hopkins had a way of getting things done, as we're told, you will not get a single depiction of it here. also the narrator sounds like south park

the author has lots of relevant detail for the life, but has a master's thesis type idea constantly interrupting the flow. skip the intro and every sentence that mentions "social darwinism" and you will come away with a decent sense of the life of a key figure in the FDR administration

another great teacher from the Great Courses. he's a lecturer here but he does an amazing job re-creating the Socratic or dialectic method in his presentation
