I didn't find these particularly scary, though some parts were a bit tense. There's a total of four books with two different story lines. Some reviewers had complained that she took three books to explain a haunting of house-flippers; I didn't mind that at all. Chop it up into 50 or have one. They're all included here and doesn't leave you hanging.

***POSSIBLE SPOILER***
What the heck happened to the money that Body and Bailey paid to "Milo" for the house? Did I miss the explanation?

First, the narrator is HORRIBLE. For about 90-95% of the book, she’s very robotic. She ends nearly every sentence with the same (somehow, annoying?) emphasis. It’s like she recounting events to a jury in a courtroom or maybe admonishing her teenager after catching them after they’ve been out all night. Siri and Alexa would have been better and less robotic. To give her “props” though, she has narrated more books for a public audience than I have (I’m sitting at “zero”). Just listen to a sample so you know what you’ll have to listen to for 10 hours.

The story itself is a more modern take on “The Haunting of Hill House” by Shirley Jackson. It’s not particularly scary or spooky (though this could be due to the narrator) and definitely not one of Ms. Clarke’s better stories. The “Legacy of Darkness” novels were great. This one, *meh*, kind of phoned in. Again, it could be due to it sounding like I hit “text-to-speech” on a textbook.

As it's been said, this book is very different from the movie. Although there are many parallels, there are not as many as you might expect. They mainly occur during the climax within the last few hours of the book.

Scott Brick was an acquired taste but once I became familiar with his character delivery, I would prefer him over Michael Prichard. Brick offers many more character nuances that further immerses the reader into the story.

"The Sum of All Fears" is still one of my favorite movies. The contrasts between the two are so numerous that make it seem like an entirely different premise (for about 80% of the story) which is not a bad thing. I would recommend either to anyone!

Tom Clancy delves deeply into the backstories of his characters in this book. Unlike "Red Rabbit", the history and thought processes actually lend more credibility to the characters than the author in respect to their current situation.

The reader/listener can't help but to develop feelings for each character (whether positive or negative) and will easily become concerned about their fate.

Michael Prichard had a negative review in his previous recording about John Clark for being too monotone (among other complaints). I feel that he has redeemed himself in this reading as he was simply stupendous with this attempt.

I've read and listened to quite a few Tom Clancy novels as well as other military thrillers; most of them have kept my interest very well. Red Rabbit is quite long and while Scott Brick does an excellent job with the reading, the story itself is lacking in most areas.

One thing that adds to the length of the story are the constant insights into a character's thought process. While I could appreciate this from an immersion aspect, I would have preferred if Clancy skipped on this and actually added more to the story.

This was one book of his that I was actually looking for an end to come but instead it focused heavily on the set-up of the story with a very short climax, and an even shorter ending.

Red Rabbit is the equivalent of five hours of flirting and foreplay, about ten minutes of hand-stuff, the usual minute-man intercourse, and then crying yourself to sleep afterward (ahem, I'm guessing).
