Historia
For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Sweet story
Revisado: 09-26-24
One of the best I’ve read this year, or ever. As others have said before me this book is a breath of fresh air. Great story, characters and lightheartedness. No cliffs or climax, just a gentle story that compels you to complete it. Oh, lastly a really well written “bad guy” I just wanted to strangle them, it was lovely.

I expected a better story from Kiera Cass
Revisado: 07-27-23
I have read/listened to many of Kiera Cass's books and enjoyed them. I was excited to read this book until I started listening. The narrator, to borrow a phrase from someone else, so abrasive it was was off putting. I pushed through because I wanted to enjoy the story. Sadly it was not worth it. The main character is whiny, her best friend is awful to her, the men treat her like a possession not a person (even her "love") and don't even talk to me about the ending. I read books to have a happy ending, the world is rough enough. I was so shocked at the ending I didn't even finish the book, 30 min left and I am done. This was such a disappointment I will not even attempt the second book.

My favorite book
Revisado: 12-06-22
I have read this book more times than I can count over the years. I was Craig’s age when I first read it, now I’m older than Alec, amazing. This book is such a treasure to read and the heart felt witness is wonderful. I have given away so many copies to people who needed a boost, they always come back to me that this story touched them.
After all these years, hearing Sophie come to life, brought me to tears. I’ll be honest I am not a fan of the voice/tone used for Alec but the narrator does such a wonderful job with emotions it’s easily overlooked. Her Craig had me crying, he sounded just the way I heard him in my head. The narrator’s ability to capture Sophie’s accent and the frustration of not getting the words right is palpable. I love it.
I can only hope they do more of Lori Wick’s work.

Good writing. Bad version
Revisado: 10-31-22
It’s a true Riordan, book is great. This recording though is sub-par. I listen to a lot of audio books. But this one is bad enough for me to speak up.
There are music tracks that are at point so loud I can’t hear the narrator. The narrator is also off somehow. I can’t explain but for me, her reading of it was not well done.
I was drawn on because of the story and honestly if I had time I would have bought the book and read it rather than continuing. I am still debating returning it, I don’t know if I could listen it again. Particularly the music parts, I use a headset and the narrator would fade down and the music would crescendo so loud it hurt.
But as always great R Riordan story!
