Historia
Operated by the same family for more than a century, Midnight Blues may be fun for the locals and the tourists, but as of late, the club hasn’t been fun for its owner, Big Shirley Duncan, or her son Tyrese, descendants of the original proprietors. The pair finds themselves in the middle of a turf war between local politicians, developers, and a ruthless underworld boss, Jean LeBlanc, who is looking to make a name for himself. Afraid for the first time in her life that her family may lose control of The Blues, Big Shirley sends Tyrese to New York to see her brother-in-law, LC Duncan.

The bad plot and writing of that plot. Amateurish.

I have followed Carl Weber's works for quite some time and I have to say this is the worst rubbish to bear his name. if he truly wrote this trash, he has lost his touch. At best this book should have been a side story with the true Duncan's being front and center. Very disappointed. What may be worse is laying the foundation to continue writing this mess. If Family Business 8 is a continuation of this storyline, you have lost a reader. If you no longer have meaningful storylines, as much as I would hate it, it's time for the series to end with one final flair of the real Duncan's.

Historia
Philly Girl 2 will have you re-evaluating the bonds of friendship and love. It will make you think twice about chasing street money, as loyalty is put to the test with drugs, murder, sex, and mayhem in the mix. This quick thriller will have your jaw dropping. Born and raised in the slums of West Philadelphia, Rita is no stranger to the street life. In fact, she indulges in the fast life, getting money from selling drugs just as hard as the men she competes with.

Not a sequel. Could have been a new book with different characters and back stories. By using the same characters the implications would be the same family dynamics. Isis father is now Serita's father. Shay was the friend not the sister. Serita and Isis we're sisters. Same mother and so on. Not sure if fathom any other works from this author.
