Historia
Everyone has secrets, and Rachel Holloway is no exception. She’s worked hard to keep the past where it belongs: dead and buried. And so far, she’s been very successful. But now the small newspaper where she works wants to produce a podcast on a cold case: the disappearance 12 years ago of young Molly Forster. Some secrets should never see the light of day, and, as far as Rachel is concerned, whatever happened to little Molly is one of them.

Really enjoyed
Revisado: 09-09-24
It was a bit atypical, since we knew who the bad guy was pretty early on, but still a good story overall. I like the way it ended, except I would have liked to see her a bit more mad at her friend and her boyfriend, as they almost ruined everything for her, by not listening to her. It was a bit slow in the middle, but overall it was a good book.

Decent, but the end fell a little flat
Revisado: 09-08-24
I did like it, but the ending just felt a little lacking. Nothing really left me shocked about how the story panned out. It was a pretty average story overall

A bit slow, but overall well done and good plot twist
Revisado: 08-31-24
I was shocked when the perp was revealed, because I never fully suspected him, but that may be just me. Some random parts of the book that didn't matter were a bit slow to drag on, but it did give some more depth to the story. I dont think the ending was horrible or necessarily "sad" like others have said, because it was an open ending. It's left to our own speculation on what happened. According to the perp (who may be lying), it should be sad, but there is no definitive proof, even to the last line. I don't really love open endings, but I get why they are done sometimes.

It kept me guessing
Revisado: 08-29-24
While I did sus out the "bad guy" in the beginning, just due to a hunch, I kept getting twisted over the motive. At one point, I was even questioning if some of the "trustworthy people" to Paige were lying. Boy did I go back and forth about who's POV "the girl" was from. I kept flipping between the missing girls, and then questioning whether or not it was someone else entirely. I reccomend if you enjoy a mild mystery thriller with a bit of romance.

My name is Rachel Price, and two months ago, I walked away from the perfect man. Sweet and funny, and so hot it should be illegal—we shared one magical night. No names. No strings. I never thought I'd see him again. I was wrong. It turns out Mr. Perfect is the playboy grinder for the Jacksonville Rays, the NHL's hottest new hockey team . . . and I'm his new physical therapist. Oh, and the jerk doesn't even recognize me!

Just... be prepared for the ride (minor spoilers)
Revisado: 08-28-24
While I did enjoy the book for a good chunk, it's basically a reverse harem, polyamerous relationship where the men worship the woman, but also fool around with each other, which not everyone is into reading. While I do enjoy reading smut, it was... a lot. I ended up DNFing it because it just became too much. The FL also pissed me off occasionally with how pushy she was to get her way and get everyone to agree to the harem, even though there was clear discomfort with two of the three men about sharing her. It's okay if she wants polyamery, but she can't try to force it on these men because "they are each her soul mate in a different way" and "she needs them individually and together". It just gave me the ick, so I had to drop it with 8 hours left. If you are into that type of stuff, you will love it. If not, I would skip.

Good but then... weird?
Revisado: 03-07-24
I don't get it. The guy clearly messed up, but then after him forcing her to listen to his sorry ass, he gets mad when it doesn't go his way, and then the situation gets reversed, but he won't listen to her. Then she... TIES HIM UP AND HANDCUFFS HIM WHILE HE'S SLEEPING? WHAT? I'm at a loss on the 180 it took. It started out good and normal but damn. It got really weird really quickly.

Emmett Lasker is impossible to work for. He might be model handsome and stupidly wealthy, but he also has it out for me. He’s given me more last-minute and weekend requests than anyone else, ruining any plans I make. I should quit. And I will. Just as soon as I hit my two-year anniversary and earn out my signing bonus. But after a particularly awful day at work, a breakup (via text!), and my computer crashing, I’ve had enough! So at 11:59 Friday night, I barge into Emmett’s office to tell him what I really think of him. Only, that’s not what happens. AT ALL.

It kept me guessing the whole time.
Revisado: 08-06-22
This book is a significant improvement from her last two books. I loved all of her books of thos genre up until The Twin. I was hoping The Lake would prove to be better, but it wasn't. I was worried trying this one that it would be similar to the last two, but it was so good! I was dissapointed at first, because I thought I caught who the killer was in the first few chapters, but I was proven wrong. I highly suggest if you liked her previous books, or books of this genre!
