Engaging Biblical fiction

This story is situated within the time frame of Jesus' ministry, as it follows the families of Jesus and Thomas the disciple. I enjoyed the insights into life during that period as well as the thoughtful exploration of possible attitudes and challenges faced by the family members. The story line is woven amid events depicted in the Gospels. Reading was solid, and I would recommend the book.

I really liked this book, both for the intriguing story and the underlying philosophy. It seemed more science fiction than thriller, and it kept my attention throughout. I strongly recommend it for those who like sci-fi that explores serious questions about life and humanity.

The protagonist is a young, wealthy, female colonist who dislikes both the British and the traditional rules expected of women in her era. These are her main attributes, and much of the story needs more development. It was interesting to hear the author's idea about who the mysterious Agent 355 might have been.

Well paced adventure with a solid finish

This was the second book in a sequence, and I enjoyed both. I found the pace to be right, including enough time with the characters to know them, but not so much personal drama that it would bog the story. Events unfolded with enough surprises to keep me engaged, and the unusual writing style maintained a feeling of being in the moment. I will look for more books by this author.
