Our family has listened to this authors books for many years, especially when we travel. We have a large span in our children’s age, and her books have been enjoyable for all ages. This book decides to take the opportunity to teach non-binary sexual identity. During that portion of the book it became obvious she was trying to teach something that we didn’t feel comfortable with in a children’s book. We became uncomfortable, and we turned the book off. I returned it for my credit. Historically this author has written to a certain demographic reader and it appears she is not interested in that demographic anymore. Parents put a lot of trust into authors to entertain and teach their children with their writing. This book did not earn our trust as parents, and in fact, she’s lost our trust. As a parent, I’m glad I was listening to the book with my children. It may have seemed like a little conversation that she might’ve not thought was important or significant, but the message was clear what she was trying to teach, and when an author crosses that line, they’ve taking a stand that they want to teach young children their mindset. Very disappointing.

I enjoyed the story over the several books including this last book, but the end seemed rushed and hard to believe. I guess I expected more of a finale in the end after listening to these over the last several years. I liked the moral driven story though.

Felt like this one was just an in between book until the next great one. Place holder kinda. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, but felt it was not as exciting as some of the previous books. Interesting "how to"in the book on the making of a super dictator.

Would you consider the audio edition of Rise of the Elgen to be better than the print version?

Have not read book, but I think this Narrator is hands down part of the success of this book for me.

What other book might you compare Rise of the Elgen to and why?

Nothing like it, that is what makes it so good.

What about Fred Berman’s performance did you like?

His ability to portray so many characters so distinctly and with such personality, even the females. He is 5 stars!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The name is great!

Any additional comments?

I am a parent and this book is the kind of book I want my children to read. No swearing, sex, or even excessive/unnecessary violence. Great life lessons taught in an exciting story.

Would you listen to The Rise of the Wyrm Lord again? Why?

after the power listen, i would need a break before listening to again.

What other book might you compare The Rise of the Wyrm Lord to and why?

This book is unique.

What does Wayne Thomas Batson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Struggled with the narrator at first, but adapted when the pace picked up.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The name is sufficient.

Any additional comments?

no
