Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Historia
Are history books giving us the whole story? Or is civilization far more complex and for older than we have been taught? Our school textbooks barely mention the 6,000-year-old Sumerian civilization, yet the latest archaeological findings at sites such as Jericho, and most recently, Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, have been dated to 10,000 BC. Civilization goes back at least another 10,000 years, if we are willing to believe what our ancestors themselves claimed.

Revisado: 12-07-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I have read many of his books, and enjoyed them all, this one is just soooooooooo sloooooow to get started, to get anywhere...
What was most disappointing about Michael Crichton’s story?
I honestly thought, having watched some of his books made into movies, this book would be some how better, they usually are, sadly this one, isn't...i look forward to seeing the movie, hopefully it is better, though, I've heard it isn't...
Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?
I don't blame, or fault Scott, I LOVE, his readings, it's the book I don't like...
What character would you cut from The Lost World?
never got that far, am asking for a refund.
Any additional comments?
perhaps, I'll like the movie better. I loved the other Jurassic ones

As a young boy, Bob had been drawn to the property, and, just when the family decided to move back to Brentwood, it went up for sale. Without a second thought, they purchased the house that Bob had always dreamed of owning. But the family soon began experiencing strange phenomena - objects moving on their own, ghostly footsteps, unsettling moaning sounds - that gradually increased in violence, escalating to physical assaults and, most disturbingly, bleeding walls.

All that remains is a massive crater where a chunk of the world has gone missing. As the deadly phenomenon repeats and expands amidst the world's most densely populated cities, Jack Sigler, Callsign: King, and his black ops team take action. But this time, it’s the living who desperately need Odd on their side. Three helpless innocents will be brutally executed unless Odd can intervene in time. PASS THIS ONE BY
Revisado: 10-19-13
Would you try another book from Dean Koontz and/or David Aaron Baker?
NOT for now. PERHAPS NEVER... I have read almost every book, Dean Koontz, has written. This was the biggest disappointment. I have read or listened to, where available, ALL the, ODD THOMAS, books..And enjoyed them.I honestly can't make heads or tails of what is being said, in this book... Where is the story line???
Personally, if I could, I would have compleatly, OMITTED, ANY STARS ABOVE...
What could Dean Koontz have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
NOT WRITTEN IT...... it was awful/ boring/tangle of 'words'. no plot, not even a story line I could follow...but this one, was truly bad...I have honesly started it 3 times from the beginning, I get to the middle, and just give up.I know this one is a DUD, IMHO, I am going to delete it, and chalk it up to a poor reading experience.
What didn’t you like about David Aaron Baker’s performance?
Everything...His voice, I found aggrivating...
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Deeply Odd?
ALL IF IT..THERE IS NO STORY, IMHO..I HAVE TRIED 3TIMES TO LISTEN TO IT, AND GIVEN UP...IT IS DELETE TIME.
Any additional comments?
I HAVE NO IDEA what Dean was thinking...I have just given up on one other...It had a Frankinstine type, misunderstood, monster, I believe...I gave up on that one too...even though it was far better, when compaired to this ,"mess of words"...it just goes on, and on, and says nothing..It will be some time before I waste my time & $ on any further books by him...
