This narrator is horrible. Every sentence is harsh and made the main character unsympathetic. She is too loud, too sharp. Conversational speaking is always just verbal attacks. Hard to listen to for very long. Distracted from what was likely a good story. I couldn’t rate the story fairly. I generally like this author. Just truly bad narration.

Good story, love the love for good family threaded throughout..but overall I found the story made me anxiety ridden mostly . Maybe that was the intent, but not a huge fan.

So slow

Narrator, loved her strong voice, but has problems with her l’s in words like cold. Thats maybe a personal nit pick I’m sure. I wasn’t sure if she was saying dog or doll for first bit. Got better. Story is slow to start after initial few moments ..Mike Omer has delivered better.

Flaky Heroine

I couldn’t care about the heroine from the beginning.. she was wishy washy about everything from the first. Clue to how everything happened. She never asked real questions .. so dumb. I listened until the end because I paid for it. Not worth it.

I would have asked straight off who the hell does the scarf belong to? No need to drag it out for hours! Thats just me clearly. Listening to a nervous woman wreck her life for being timid was so unnecessary.

Good idea

The story kept me listening until the end..but I had no patience for the mealy mouthed heroin who was supposedly so well versed in law and could verbally stand up to a killer,but was the worst ever witness on the stand. Who says”maybe” and “I’m pretty sure” on the witness stand when a yes or no would negate further questions and still be honest? Simple answers. That was brutal to listen to and I was “praying”for it to be over by that point.

Sweet!

This was a well told, sweet story. Literally takes you back in time. The narrator did a nice job. I found it refreshing and very enjoyable.

Good story, terrible narrator

I stayed until the end because the story was good, but the narration was terrible. Pronunciation was an issue for some words, but more than that, the slow depressing tone through the entire book, for every character, was distracting. My husband heard some of it and asked me if the narrator was drunk!

A bit too preachy for me

I couldn't picture Richard as a young man due to the narration. The voice was not of that of a late 20"s early 30 younger guy ..ever. Made me not believe all the afemale attention. Story ok until the last few chapters..felt it was a wrap up too quick and very preachy.

I read so much...thought I would be tough when I figured out where this story was going. It was nicely written, not horribly dragged out, good charachters and well told by the narrator. I needed a tissue. Nice twist.
